Ezogiku (850 Kamehameha Hwy Ste 133)
About
A Taste of Hokkaido in the Heart of Pearl City
Step inside this humble noodle shop along Kamehameha Highway and you are immediately hit with the savory, bone-deep aroma of tonkotsu broth simmering for hours. Ezogiku brings the authentic, no-frills spirit of Sapporo ramen culture to Oahu. The interior is functional and modest—the kind of place where the focus remains entirely on the steaming bowls arriving at your table rather than ornate decor.
Signature Slurps
The menu is a masterclass in regional Japanese comfort food. Their signature miso ramen is the standout, featuring a rich, fermented base that perfectly coats the chewy, medium-thick noodles. If you prefer a bit of heat, the spicy ramen options pack a genuine punch that lingers without overwhelming the depth of the pork base. Don’t overlook the gyoza; they arrive with a crisp, golden-brown sear on one side and a juicy, ginger-forward filling that makes them a mandatory side order.
The Local Ramen Counter Experience
This spot is ideal for a quick, soul-warming lunch or a casual dinner when you need a break from the tropical heat. Be prepared for the bustling environment—the sound of clinking porcelain bowls and the rhythmic hiss of the noodle boilers create a high-energy backdrop that feels quintessentially urban. While parking in the complex can get tight during peak meal hours, the swift service ensures a steady turnover, making it a reliable destination for local foodies craving a consistent bowl of noodles. Whether you are grabbing a quick bite after running errands near the shopping centers or seeking out a reliable Sapporo-style fix, Ezogiku remains a cornerstone of the Pearl City dining scene for those who prioritize flavor above all else.

What can I say other than the food is amazing, customer service can't be beat, and all for the best prices on the island. Highly recommended. Hidden treasure.

My wife and I have been regular customers at the Pearl City location for almost 10 years and are very sorry it closed. My wife is Japanese and says that their ramen is the closest to the flavor of the ramen she ate in Japan while growing up. We tried the Waimalu store yesterday and the ramen was not good. The cook diluted the broth with too much water and the bean sprouts and meat were both boiled and not stir fried. The taste was totally watery with not much flavor. It tasted more like Pho than ramen. I think the cook needs to be trained in how the prepare the proper Ezogiku recipe. We are looking forward to the reopening of the store at its new location.

The food tasted fine but there was a small cockroach hidden in the beef sukiyaki. I had an upset stomach for hours afterwards likely due to the unsanitary food. To the management, please take action to ensure your food doesn’t contain bugs and won’t make people sick.
