Bunto Sliders & Fries
About
A New Way to Crave in Pearl City
Bunto Sliders & Fries brings a refreshing focus to the local dining scene in Pearl City. Instead of massive, unwieldy portions, the menu centers on compact, flavor-packed sliders that allow you to sample a variety of ingredients in a single sitting. The space feels stripped back and focused, steering clear of excessive decor to keep the attention squarely on the kitchen's output.
The Art of the Mini Burger
What sets Bunto apart is their dedication to the sear. Each mini patty hits a scorching grill, locking in juices before being placed on a pillowy, slightly sweet bun that manages to hold up against the house-made sauces. The fries are intentionally cut thin, resulting in a distinct crunch that makes them addictive enough to finish even after you think you’ve reached your limit.
What to Expect When You Visit
The atmosphere is best described as high-energy and casual, making it an ideal pit stop for families or friends looking for a quick bite without the formality of a sit-down service. You will likely notice the sizzle of the griddle the moment you walk through the door—it is a loud, bustling environment that captures the spirit of a classic neighborhood burger joint.
One small observation for those planning their visit: because of the popularity of their specific style of comfort food, the limited seating can fill up quickly during the lunch rush. If you find the counter full, the sliders travel surprisingly well, making them a top-tier choice for a takeout meal to enjoy at nearby community parks.

Button Up Cafe My first dining experience in Hawaiʻi was a memorable one! As we arrived, the first thing that we saw was the chef chasing a rooster away from the front door! You’ve got to love the island charm. Talk about fresh poultry! The food was absolutely delicious. We ordered the Stuffed French Toast and the Loco Moco with Braised Short Ribs, and both dishes were outstanding. Our food arrived quickly, and everything was served fresh and hot. This is a local spot, not a fancy restaurant, but that’s part of its appeal. The atmosphere was welcoming, the operation seemed well-organized, and everything appeared clean and well-maintained. If you’re looking for great local food and a genuine Hawaiʻi experience, Button Up Cafe is definitely worth a visit!

Nice chill spot. They are known for the French toast but I had to get some real breakfast after a long flight back home from Japan. Had a little wait because the place is kinda small and it can get busy. You sit down look at the menu and order your food from the counter. Took a few minutes but the food came out nice and hot! A lot of food for the price and very tasty.

The food was amazing! The establishment is small and unassuming, but they delivered a better culinary experience than much larger and more expensive restaurants. We highly recommend the stuffed French toast. The Ube Cheesecake was especially good as other reviews have stated. One word of caution if you intend to dine-in, be prepared to wait as seating is very limited.
