About
Island-Style Grilling in the Heart of Lihue
When you find yourself navigating the busy corridors near the Lihue airport, Noka Grill offers a straightforward, no-nonsense approach to Kauai comfort food. This isn't a place for white tablecloths; it is a reliable stop for locals and travelers alike who want their protein charred over an open flame without the fuss of a formal dining room.
The Flavor of the Fire
The kitchen leans into a menu that emphasizes hearty portions and classic island seasoning. Their signature grilled plates—ranging from succulent teriyaki chicken to seasoned beef cuts—arrive with the unmistakable, smoky aroma of wood-fired cooking. You will hear the sizzle of the grill from the pickup counter before you even catch a glimpse of your plate, and the char on the meat provides that essential texture that separates a quick meal from a memorable one.
What to Expect at the Counter
Stepping inside, the environment is functional and efficient, designed for those who have a busy day of island hopping or sightseeing ahead. The seating is casual, often bustling with the hum of locals catching up over lunch. Be aware that the popularity of their lunch specials can lead to a crowded entrance, and parking requires a bit of patience during the midday rush. It is the perfect spot for a satisfying, unpretentious meal when you want to bypass the tourist-heavy resorts and eat like a Lihue resident. Whether you are grabbing a box to take to the nearby beaches or settling in for a quick bite, the focus remains squarely on the depth of flavor in every bite.

I ordered the mushroom Swiss burger. It was a pretty average burger. I wish it came with a spread or sauce and wished they also roasted the bun. They provide ketchup, mayo, and mustard to use on the burger. They have an upstairs with a pretty killer view to enjoy your meal.

Fun place to eat breakfast. The gal at the counter was the nicest lady ever. Had the breakfast sandwich, breakfast burrito, and French toast. All were really good. Highly recommend. We'll be back to try lunch.

Came here on vacation in April 2022.. love the food. I tried the Loco moco for breakfast which consists of white rice, topped with a hamburger, fried egg, and brown gravy. Loved it . Gravy was a bit salty but it was good paid around $13+ for this and shared it with my cousin. We were both full. Service was fast but this place gets packed so order ahead of time. I'd definitely go back to try other dishes

My first time I tried this place, it was closed around 8am on a Friday. Don't know if Google times were wrong, none the less I would try again after seeing it was open the next day. The food was amazing and plentiful. The service was quick but the menu choices were very limited. Prices were reasonably and the servings were more than enough for 2. I guess second times a charm.

I stopped at Noka Grill to grab a quick breakfast and decided on the Eggs Benedict . The eggs were cooked perfectly, and the ham was sliced generously thick. I enjoyed the views and the sound of the waves from the rooftop seating while I ate. The staff is super friendly. I plan to go back

Cool lil location with plenty of seating. Picnic tables and bar hight seating. Rooftop seating with view of ocean. Moco loco 🍳 was a hit with son. Egg white omelette and rice was huge with tons of veggies 🍄🧅 🥑 cooked to perfection. Fried rice had tons of veggies and some meat. We probably could have split the plate. Public restroom available. Would definitely come back.

The best breakfast we've had in Kaua'i! The food was ready quickly, service was fast. It was delicious. We ordered the egg white omelette with fried rice, the pancakes and bacon and the ham and cheese omelette. Portions are big and everything was absolutely yummy. We sat in the deck above and the view was just beautiful, very relaxing. Perfect way to start our day. Can't wait to come back to try their lunch menu.

Fish tacos - sauce was good but fish was fishy - super disappointed since we’re on an island (can get fishy fish at home). Breakfast burrito was good (if you like link sausage) and the spam fried rice was tasty!

I was already full but really wanted to try the fried rice here after seeing pictures. It was so so soooo good. Their hot sauce selection was pretty nice, too. Da Kine was a little hotter and more up my alley, but the Kilauea fire one was very bbq-y and very Hawaii if you’re into that flavor!
