About
A Sweet Staple in the Heart of Lihue
Stepping into Ko Bakery, you are immediately met with the intoxicating aroma of toasted coconut and simmering fruit curds. This Lihue favorite has carved out a dedicated following among locals who know that the secret to a great Kauai morning often starts with a single, perfectly balanced treat. The space is bright and functional, prioritizing the display cases filled with vibrant, tropical-inspired confections over elaborate seating.
Signature Flavors of Kauai
The bakery is perhaps most celebrated for its adventurous approach to traditional pastry. You will find staples like their signature lilikoi bars, where the sharp, acidic punch of passion fruit cuts through a buttery, crumbly shortbread crust. Their seasonal fruit tarts often feature whatever is growing in abundance across the island, ensuring the menu feels connected to the local agriculture. The brownies are another standout—dense, fudgy, and occasionally elevated with a hint of Hawaiian sea salt.
What to Expect When You Visit
If you are heading here mid-morning, prepare for a line; it is a popular pitstop for commuters and visitors navigating the central Lihue business district. The energy is fast-paced and efficient. While parking can be a bit of a shuffle during the busy lunch rush, the grab-and-go nature of the shop makes it easy to secure a box of goodies and head toward your next beach destination. It is the ideal stop for anyone looking to sample authentic island sweets that avoid the overly sugary trap of tourist-heavy chains.

We just eloped in Kauai and had a Tropical Dream cake made by Ko. It was absolutely perfect in design and the flavor was unbelievable. In addition, the team was so helpful and made ordering so easy. I wish I could have this cake every year on our anniversary !! I will be ordering a cake from them anytime I come to Kauai

Went looking for a new coffee shop, and based on reviews, tried this one. You probably would never find it by accident, as it in the middle of an industrial estate. No seating, just a couple of stand up tables. But the baked goods, and the coffee drinks are excellent. We are them in the car, and was still totally worth !

Ko Bakery recently did our wedding cake and exceeded our expectations with both the design and flavor of the cake. We were extremely pleased with how the cake turned out and our family and friends all commented on how great it tasted!

Mahalo for the amazing cake! We ordered a Neapolitan cake with lilikoi buttercream for our baby’s first birthday and they made it overnight for us. It was super light, delicious, and perfectly balanced. Very friendly service and wonderful staff. Highly recommend this bakery.

Ko Bakery was everything I hoped for and more. I worked closely with Candi and I honestly adore her. I had so many questions about flavors, textures, designs, all of it, and she always responded with so much patience and warmth. She has this calm, steady way about her that truly took the stress out of the process. We ended up choosing the white cake with haupia icing for our main cake and a chocolate ganache groom’s cake, and both were unreal. Our guests are still talking about how good they were. The cakes were beautiful, delicious, and exactly what we imagined. I am so thankful we chose Ko Bakery, they made this whole experience feel so special.
