Kauai Beach Resort

Update: the bedding for the pull out couch brought to my room was a single sheet. Moving my two stars down to one. Fair warning before booking, this hotel is still under renovations and they don’t give warning. The whole lobby is currently a maze to get to rooms. Depending on the wing you are in you have to zig zag halls, going between elevators to get to rooms. Check in is slow at the concierge desk as the lobby is being remodeled as well. Our room has a pull out couch for our son. We do not have bedding in the room for it. They also informed us upon check in they don’t not do any room servicing during the stay only restock on towels, etc as requested. The adult hot tub is not working so everyone is crowded into one tiny kids hot tub, the water slide pool has been shut down for two days as well. The beach here has a major current in it and we were told when checking in to not enter the water. On the side note, the staff has been very friendly on the property, parking is fairly easy in and out. So error on the side of caution when booking.

Rating: ⭐⭐⭐ Beautiful Rooms and Grounds, but Inconvenient Layout & Policies We recently stayed in a newly remodeled "Pool View/Partial Ocean View" room, which was excellent; the bed was very comfy, the room was spotless, and the shower had great water pressure. The landscaping throughout the resort is also immaculately kept. However, the current construction in the lobby made navigating the resort a major headache. To get to our 2nd-floor room, we had to go to the opposite wing, up to the 3rd floor, walk across, and then back down. The towel policy is also a letdown; you have to exchange a card at the lobby (which is in the opposite direction of the pool), making it feel redundant and poorly planned. Pros: Staff: Very friendly and personable, though our check-in agent spoke very fast and lacked a welcoming smile. Gift Shop: Huge selection! We also didn't realize there was a Starbucks in the back until our third day. Cleanliness: Rooms and grounds are 10/10. Cons: Pool/Jacuzzi: Several pool sections were blocked off without explanation, and the only Jacuzzi was out of order. Hours: Drinks closing at 6:00 PM at the Driftwood Bar is way too early, and there is no poolside wait staff. Fees: Expect to pay $29/night for self-parking (or $39 for valet) on top of a $35 daily resort fee. Communication: We wish the check-in staff had explained the concierge services (called on day two) or the QR code for resort info (found on day three).

This is such a beautiful resort right on the beach with amazing staff. The only critique is the ongoing construction of the lobby (which is not nearly as noisy as some of the other reviews would make it out to be) might be slightly inconvenient. However, this is remedied by the absolutely kind staff and very clean rooms. I’m very picky about the cleanliness of a hotel bedroom but I had no issues with anything in our room and found it to be immaculate. Another slight inconvenience is I do believe the spa is closed during renovation so plan accordingly.

Great, central location. Staff friendly and helpful. Fantastic pool(s), hot tubs, slide. On-site restaurants, bars, and convenient store. Finishing up remodeling with few more areas being worked on, but looking great! Lobby is now open despite other recent reviews. Only reason I gave 4 stars is the ocean at the resort is not safe nor recommended to swim in due to rought current, although local beaches to access are nearby. Still beautiful sunrises and walking along the shore! Mahalo!

Although in the midst of renovation, our room was beautiful with an incredible view of the beach at sunrise! The four pools are nice and well-maintained. One of the hot tubs was out of order, so it caused the one that was working to be over-crowded. The restaurant has great food. And, above all, the staff are amazing! So sweet, kind, and helpful! A truly wonderful stay!!
