A South Maui Culinary Staple

Stepping into Three's Bar and Grill, you are immediately greeted by the hum of local energy and the salt-kissed breeze coming off the South Maui coastline. This isn't your typical resort-side eatery; it is a high-traffic hub where Kihei locals congregate alongside visitors looking for an authentic taste of the islands. The atmosphere is casual and open-air, perfect for those who prefer their sunsets with a side of live acoustic music and a stiff drink.

The Fusion Philosophy

Chefs Travis Morrin, Cody Christopher, and Jaron Blosser founded the spot with a unique concept: blending Hawaiian, Southwestern, and Pacific Rim influences. The menu reflects this trio of backgrounds with standout items like their signature ramen and fresh-catch fish tacos. The kitchen treats Maui-grown ingredients with respect, moving beyond standard tourist fare to offer dishes that feel grounded in the local landscape.

What to Expect When You Arrive

Expect a bustling floor. Because the location is a favorite for happy hour, the noise level can climb, creating a lively, sometimes chaotic dining room that captures the communal spirit of Kihei. If you arrive by car, be prepared to maneuver through the busy parking lot, as spaces fill up quickly during the peak sunset window. Whether you are grabbing a quick bite after a day at Kalama Beach or settling in for a long dinner, the staff maintains a high-energy service pace that keeps the experience moving. It is the kind of place where your clothes might pick up the scent of garlic-shoyu glaze and the sound of laughter carries from the bar to the back tables.

Pleasantly surprised with this dinner. Choose it as a chill night dinner and it brought the flavor. We had a group of 5 and they accommodated us nicely on the patio. Nice side view of sunset off the beach. Our server was kind and knowledgeable giving us excellent recommendations throughout the night. She also was very knowledgeable about celiac and ensured that all items were without cross contamination. We ordered the Lime and Da Coconut, which was an excellent coconut flavor with a slight tartness. Another person in our party has the mule and said it was delicious. For appetizers, we had a gluten free order of the portobello mushroom, which was savory and had a good flavor! Non gluten free appetizer was the coconut shrimp, which was our favorite coconut shrimp during our time on the island. The coleslaw with the shrimp had a delicious thai peanut sauce that was to die for. Our party had the jambalaya and all agreed it was so flavorful and packed with meat and rice. Also had a habanero sauce on the side that brought the zip. Other people had the beer can chicken, which was spectacular. Finally, gluten free dishes included the teriyaki chicken and the burger, which were both very good! Overall 3’s was great, and an unexpected win on our trip to Maui!

Don’t get me wrong— the happy hour menu is great. Drinks & food, delicious. The panko crusted sushi roll is amazing, as were the garlic noodles. However, the service here has never made a good impression on me. Visited here a couple times over the years and it’s been that way every time. Maybe that’s just what you get when you dine at the triangle in Kihei.

Three's is a great venue in Kihei for lunch or dinner in the Kihei Kalama Village. Parking can be challenging but staff and menu are both appealing without being overpriced (for Maui). Casual vibe was perfect for our dinner as we enjoyed the outdoor patio. Only drawback was our table was illuminated by car headlights from parking lot from an oblivious parker reading his phone.

Absolutely Love this place. I've been coming here for over 10 years. Service is always pleasant, whether I dine alone or with friends. They have the best Happy Hour and Food too! Must try: Hamapeño Roll, Ramen, Seared Ahi, and Jambalaya. If you're in the mood for a burger, their Boom Burger is super ono! And it comes with a homemade Kimchee pickle (Best Pickle ever!!) Yummmmmmm...

We had seen this place on an episode of Diners, Drive Ins & Dives and when we were looking for a lunch spot today we thought we would drive to Kihei and try it! It absolutely did NOT disappoint!! It was very easy for us to get a lovely shaded table on the patio. Our waiter Daniel was fantastic! We decided to go with three of the shared plates…Bacon fried Brussel Sprouts, garlic fried noodles, and crispy pork belly. The pork belly was so good and gone so fast that we ordered another one so that we could take a picture of it! It was definitely the first place winner…the chili gastrique and the papaya salad completely balanced off the richness of the pork belly! The garlic noodles were epic…these are the kind of noodles that you could just eat every day and never get tired of! The brussel sprouts were scrumptious! Even if you don’t like Brussel Sprouts, you will love these!! Great dishes and a total flavour bomb of yumminess!! Definitely going back again before we leave for Canada again!
