McDonald's - Kihei (S Kihei Rd)
About
Convenience in the Heart of Kihei
When you are navigating the sun-drenched shores of South Kihei Road, finding a quick, reliable bite before heading to Kamaole Beach Park is a frequent priority. This location serves as a primary pit stop for locals and visitors alike who need a familiar menu without missing out on the island sunlight. Whether you are fueling up for a snorkel trip or grabbing a late-night snack after exploring the Maui coastline, the accessibility here is unmatched.
The Familiar Maui Quick-Service Experience
The space maintains the standard efficiency you expect, though the open-air layout often lets in the scent of salt air and the distant sounds of island traffic. You will find all the classic global staples, from the Big Mac to those golden, salted fries that taste particularly satisfying after a long day in the Pacific. It is the kind of place where the air conditioning provides a sharp, welcome contrast to the humid tropical heat outside.
A Few Local Realities
One thing to keep in mind: parking in this section of Kihei can get tight during peak tourist hours. Expect a bit of a shuffle as visitors maneuver their rental cars near the entrance. However, the proximity to the Kihei shopping centers makes it a pragmatic choice if you are balancing a day of sightseeing with the need for a predictable meal. It is not about the culinary artistry; it is about getting exactly what you want, when you want it, right in the middle of Maui’s most active beach town.

If you’re in crisis due to hunger, this robotically operated self service sodium shop (McDonalds) will make your hunger stop. Presentation? 2/5 (both visits the food arrived badly assembled). Food quality (for fast food)? 2/5. Nutrition? Probably not great. This is a once in 5 year food stop. The drive thru staff are very friendly/helpful. They were polite/kind and helpful.

Dysfunctional Donald's. Worst run franchise ever. Seldom open lobby for breakfast on time. Was open today. What???. Wanted to pay cash. Haha. They basically ignor you until you go to kiosk which doesn't have a cash option. Have been in at dinner once in awhile much better crew and management. But the morning crew with the exception of a couple of the ladies is terrible. Especially shorty with da big mouth.

Third time in a row I've been through the drive-thru and my order was incomplete or missing items. My second time through I asked the cashier who appeared to be a manager if my order was correct. He said yes sir. I checked it myself and then I said well. Can I have the drink that you shorted me shorted me he said nope there's everything in the bag. I checked two times and me shut the window after he hand me my food and shoved me along my way. I once again discovered that my order was not complete that again. I was missing the main reason I wanted to go to McDonald's on the first place my apple pies and they were not in there as well as condiments and special order requests were not honored either. So the third time I was a little more animated spoke in the drive-thru to the person told them my problem and said I'd really appreciate it if they took the time to make the right order. Not sure me again and guess what? Boom order mission items again. He assured me that he checked everything. This is everything I handed it to me. I pause waited about 30 seconds and then I said is that everything? Are you sure I said yeah? I promise I drove away trusting him only to find out that he was either blind or he didn't check my bag cuz I also was missing items. So three trips in 2 weeks over $25 worth of food that wasn't in the bag and I was charged for and managerial type presence. Gave me no sort of customer service whatsoever. The golden arches with prices the way they are and service as it has become. It's just not a valuable option any longer

It's a very busy store. The dine in area is very small and generally patrons have to carry their foodstuffs out of the restaurant and onto the floors or just leave the store with their order. Expansion of the store would be great. I was looking for specific household goods and was able to locate my items without issues. The ladies room was well stocked and clean. The parking spaces along the front of the store were nice, minimal carts left deserted and that sidewalk area was well maintained. It was a good day.

It's a McDonald's but on Maui. You will get the same consistent food you get all over the country. Friendly staff and good service. Their only downside is that they are a McDonald's. My son was happy with his happy meal.

You know that time when you're walking down the street and you're eating a cheeseburger and you look down and that cheeseburger turns into a chicken sandwich you know McDonald's has been there for me through my life The Good and the bad thank you sometimes you just have to talk a lot in McDonald's felt like the place I need to express my feelings

Very good food. Clean, make sure you order a local dish. I really liked the Local Deluxe Breakfast. I have not had Spam in years. Like that the rice balances out the salt in this dish. I'm not a big fan of soy sauce but the HI make one is great.

Came here for breakfast once. Waited a couple of minutes at the cash until an employee finally showed up and asked me if she could help me. When I told her I wanted some food, she told me that I could use the self check-in machines. Very frustrating. When I ordered, they gave me bacon instead of sausage, at this point, I didnt say anything as I didnt want a staff member to spit in my food, so I decided to not say anything.

NO FREE DRINK REFILLS!!! BEWARE!!! Like most of the McDonald's in Hawaii, there is a local menu. Spam eggs and rice, Portuguese sausage eggs and rice etc. These are very good and a great value. However this McDonald's like most that have been refurbished has one counter position and they disencourage you from using it. It is slow and tedious to use the ordering kiosks. If you want a drink refill....FORGET IT....you must pay for another.

Familiar place with local twist. Where else you can see life chicken running around and eat it too LOL just kidding. The usual McDonald's menu with local addition such as local platter of spam and Portuguese sausage serve all day. Unlike burger king, McDonald's on the island accept all McDonald's apps offer/coupon. Definitely try the local platter
