Kīhei Caffe Poolside @ Maui Coast Hotel
About
Morning Bites Under the Kihei Sun
Stepping out of the Maui Coast Hotel lobby, the open-air setting at Kīhei Caffe Poolside offers an immediate transition into vacation mode. This isn't your typical hotel lobby stop; it’s an extension of the beloved local brand, bringing high-energy breakfast favorites to the resort lifestyle. You'll hear the gentle splash of the nearby pool and the chatter of travelers gearing up for a day at Kamaole Beach Park.
Island Staples Done Right
The menu focuses on the hearty, tropical comfort food that put the original Kīhei Caffe on the map. Expect generous portions of macadamia nut pancakes topped with house-made coconut syrup, or savory loco moco plates that provide the necessary fuel for a morning of surfing or snorkeling. The aroma of rich, dark-roast Hawaiian coffee permeates the air, cutting through the salty sea breeze that drifts up from the coastline.
A Relaxed South Maui Atmosphere
The vibe is quintessentially casual—flip-flops are standard issue here. Because it occupies the poolside deck, seating can get a bit cozy during the peak morning rush, and you might find yourself waiting for a prime umbrella spot. It is the ideal choice for families or couples who want a reliable, flavorful start to their day without the formal constraints of a traditional restaurant dining room. While the poolside proximity is perfect for quick access, keep in mind that the upbeat, social nature of the hotel deck makes this a spot for conversation and coffee rather than a quiet workspace.

This is our 'go to' place for breakfast. The banana macadamia pancakes are to die for. Huge cinnamon rolls are more than enough to be shared. Great menu selections and daily specials are also available. Staff is very friendly and helpful.

Kihei Caffe is a casual, counter-service spot with a lot of charm. You order at the counter and then a server walks around calling out names to deliver your food. I imagine it can be a little chaotic if they’re busy but it’s part of the fun. We went on Saturday morning and had about a 10 minute wait. The outdoor seating is lovely and makes for a really pleasant breakfast setting. The food is the real star. I ordered the corned beef and hash with pork fried rice instead of potatoes and scrambled eggs. The corned beef had a beautiful crispy layer that took it to another level. And if you’re an ube fan, the Creamy Ube Halaya cold brew is an absolute must try. A unique, delicious experience! I’d definitely come back.

I stayed at the resort here and went for breakfast once and lunch once. I was really happy with the breakfast items I ordered, and lunch was the burger. It was fine but nothing special. Workers were kind to me on both visits. It's a spacious place with plenty of seating and a few outlets in case you need to charge anything.

This was one of our favorite spots we stopped at while visiting Maui. It was so good that we rushed over before an early morning flight to be sure we could taste their pancakes and coffee one more time. The cold brew coffee flavors were all amazing. The pancakes were delicious especially with the coconut flakes, macadamia nuts, and coconut syrup. We also got a more savory plate and it was great as well. The staff were incredibly friendly and the food came out quickly both times. Recommend this place as a must stop when in town.

Went with 6 of us for breakfast and the food has the same great taste as the Original spot down the street. Get yhe pancakes with Macnut and banana and don't skimp on the coconut syrup! More (and inside) seating options then the original, but definitely not the same beach cafe vibes. But at least there is a free water station (the OG charges 2 bucks to prevent walk in water only users). The staff was friendly and service was quick. Be aware, if you have a party of 6, you will be charged 20% gratuity even though you have to order and rush to find an empty seat. This should definitely be changed in my opinion, if you are charging me up front, please guarantee me a seat and table service😉

Great place to grab breakfast and convient being right at the hotel. Frozen coffee drinks, chicken fried steak with gravy and corned beef hash were all great. You order at the front and they bring it to your table. Food was fast to come out and hot. They have a serve yourself water station which is nice.

Breakfast at Kihei Caffe is the perfect laid-back Maui start. The food tastes fresh and made-to-order. Usually a short line for b'fast where you order food which is delivered at your table. A highly recommended place.

Staying here for work, and grabbed breakfast to go from the Caffe. Ordered the #6, 2 pancakes with bananas, pineapple, and coconut. Though delicious, they use canned pineapple which was a surprise, and only gave me 1 small container of syrup. My fault for not opening it up and checking before leaving or else I would have asked for extra syrup. Will definitely be back. The staff are all friendly, super nice and VERY efficient and it’s very clean which is a HUGE plus.

Here you order at the counter and then go sit down. Eventually a server walks around yelling your name to bring you your food. That could definitely be handled better. The outdoor seating is very nice. We had the eggs breakfast, which was mediocre at best, and the waffles with bananas and macadamia nuts (delicious). It costs extra for the bananas and macadamia nuts, but without them the waffle would have been blah. Not bad breakfast, but not a great one either.
