Beachwalk Cafe
About
Morning Rituals by the Pacific
If you find yourself wandering the sunny shores of South Maui, Beachwalk Cafe serves as the unofficial anchor for early risers in Kihei. Tucked away within the quiet rhythm of the coast, this spot trades fancy pretenses for straightforward, high-quality fuel. You will smell the sharp, acidic punch of locally sourced coffee beans hitting the grinder the moment you step through the door, cutting through the salty humid air drifting in from the nearby beach parks.
The Art of the Pastry
The kitchen leans heavily into the European-style bakery tradition, with a glass display case that acts as the focal point of the shop. Their kouign-amann is a local standout—a caramelized, flaky architecture of butter and sugar that shatters audibly with every bite. The croissants are impressively airy, maintaining a structural integrity that usually requires a trip across the ocean to find. It is the kind of food that makes you forgive the fact that parking in this part of town can be a bit of a localized endurance sport.
Why It Fits Your Kihei Routine
This is not a place for a long, formal sit-down brunch. It is a utilitarian sanctuary for those who want their caffeine fix without the corporate flavor profile. The space feels intimate, often humming with the sound of local surfers comparing tide reports and tourists mapping out their drive to Hana. If you prefer your breakfast with a view of the water and a genuine community feel, this corner of Kihei provides the right balance of speed and quality. Just be prepared to wait behind a few regulars during the mid-morning rush; the quality makes the queue move slower than you might expect, but the coffee is worth the pause.

This is a hidden gem for lunch at Wailea Beach. The hummus wrap and poke bowls are great, and the convenience is perfect. No need to go back to your hotel when you can have lunch right there at your beach spot. The people who work there are friendly and the prices are quite reasonable for the area.

Ice cream! Ok so this place is a little expensive ($19 espresso cocktails 🙀) but delicious. I stop by this beach walk cafe every time I'm in Maui. The coconut ice cream with toasted coconut is worth it and the espresso martini was pretty delicious as well. Beer here is the average price for this resort area. They do offer a few food options in the fridge as well as some canned beverages. There was also a sunscreen station right in front of the beach walk cafe wich was nice, we were able to cool off with some refreshments and sunscreen up before going back to the beach.
