Abiki's Caribbean Flavas
About
A Slice of the Islands on Maui’s South Shore
When you find yourself craving bold, heat-forward soul food amidst the laid-back rhythm of Kihei, Abiki's Caribbean Flavas provides the necessary wake-up call for your palate. This isn't your standard resort-style fare; it is a straightforward, no-frills kitchen that prioritizes the deep, savory complexity of traditional Jamaican seasoning over pretension.
The Essence of Jamaican Spice
The scent of allspice and habanero drifting through the air is your first clue that you have arrived. Chef Abiki focuses on the classics, with the jerk chicken standing as the undeniable anchor of the menu. The meat is slow-cooked until it falls off the bone, carrying a smoky char that balances perfectly with the sweetness of fried plantains. Expect generous portions that feel like a home-cooked meal, heavy on the rice and peas and packed with enough authentic scotch bonnet fire to keep things interesting.
Island Casual
The atmosphere here is purely functional and deeply relaxed. It feels like a genuine neighborhood spot, perfect for grabbing a hefty plate of oxtail stew or curry goat after a long morning of snorkeling at Kamaole Beach Park. While the seating area is humble and compact, the focus is entirely on the food hitting your table hot and fresh. Pro tip: be prepared for the parking lot to get a bit tight during the lunch rush, but the trade-off is a meal that brings genuine Caribbean heat to the heart of Maui.

Unbelievable food. We had the oxtail stew and the curried chicken both were full of flavour and cooked to perfection.

My favorite food truck/restaurant on Maui. By far the best menu in my opinion. Everything was great. I’ve had almost everything on the menu and there are no misses. Also the best mango cheesecake I’ve had in my life.

Edit: my second time coming here and I got the jerk fries with BBQ chicken and an Abiki juice. I think this is my new favorite food truck on the island! I love the unique flavor combos We got the chimichurri plantain fries with beef and a juice here, and it was excellent. Large portions for a good price and very tasty!
