Tita's Grill and Catering
About
A North Shore Road Trip Staple
If you are cruising the windward coast of Oahu, you will eventually find yourself hungry in the heart of Kahuku. Tita's Grill and Catering has carved out a reputation as the go-to spot for locals and travelers alike seeking an authentic plate lunch experience without the frills. This is the kind of place where the air smells of kiawe smoke and sizzling garlic butter, signaling exactly what is cooking on the flat top grill.
Garlic Shrimp and Local Favorites
While the North Shore is famous for its shrimp trucks, Tita's brings a home-cooked depth to the menu. The garlic shrimp is the undisputed star, featuring plump, butter-drenched crustaceans that pair perfectly with a generous scoop of macaroni salad and white rice. For those who prefer a land-based meal, the kalbi ribs are tender, smoky, and pack a savory punch that justifies the wait time. It is straightforward, honest comfort food prepared with a style that defines island hospitality.
The Kahuku Experience
Expect a casual, open-air setting that embodies the laid-back rhythm of the North Shore. You might be eating on a plastic picnic table while trucks rumble by, and on busy weekends, you should prepare for a bit of a line—but that is part of the charm. This is not a place for white-tablecloth service; it is a spot to refuel with good food after surfing or exploring nearby beaches. It is perfect for families or groups hitting the road who want to skip the tourist traps in favor of a genuine, high-quality bite in one of Hawaii's most legendary rural towns.

Had the Killa Moco from here (It's like Loco Moco, but with even more things packed on to the plate). It was absolutely delicious, and was quite filling as well! Had to walk around a bit to find somewhere to sit and eat, and I found a covered area with picnic tables outside of another food truck. I'm going to anticipate all these food trucks work together, because nobody said anything as I sat and ate, so that's nice.

Everyone on the menu is so delicious! Portuguese sausage breakfast sandwich, omelette supreme over a bed of rice with extra cheese was bomb. Portions are big and service was great. Will go again and highly recommend to others!

Stopped here for a quick bite before the Polynesian cultural center. I got the garlic chicken with rice and it was delicious. Would get again. Only waited about 6 minutes.

We had a fantastic breakfast at this food truck. We stayed at the nearby hotel and would definitely recommend walking down here for breakfast verse the hotel's restaurant, it was so much better. The French toast especially was crazy good. The staff of the truck were super friendly as well.

This was one of the best food trucks I've eaten from. Tita's is situated in the Hukilau Marketplace right by the entrance of the Polynesian Cultural Centre (PCC). It's a great place to stop by and fuel up before entering the PCC as I didn't see many food places in there. The food here was delicious, well cooked and very flavourful, and the portions were quite large (hard to tell from my pics). It's definitely well worth the money if you arrive hungry. There's about a 10 minute wait for them to prepare your food, but there are some tables and chairs with umbrellas to shield you from the sun right in front of the truck, so you can relax while you wait for them to call your number.
