Lei Lei's Bar & Grill
About
A North Shore Institution for Post-Surf Hunger
Tucked away near the iconic Turtle Bay Resort, Lei Lei’s Bar & Grill serves as a reliable anchor for locals and visitors traversing the rugged North Shore of Oahu. If you have spent your day chasing swells or navigating the winding roads around Kahuku, this spot offers a welcome retreat from the sun-drenched chaos of the highway.
Island Flavors with a Classic Approach
The kitchen leans heavily into approachable, hearty fare that hits the spot after a day in the Pacific. Their signature prime rib is a local legend—thick-cut, seasoned simply, and served with jus that demands an extra side of mashed potatoes. The menu doesn't try to reinvent the wheel, opting instead for solid, consistent execution on island favorites like fresh catch preparations and classic pub-style appetizers. You’ll hear the sizzle of the grill from the open kitchen, competing occasionally with the low hum of surf reports playing on the TVs.
The Atmosphere
Expect an unpretentious, casual energy that feels distinctly Kahuku. The space is open and airy, allowing the tropical breeze to drift through while you lean into a mai tai. It isn't a place for hushed whispers; the floorplan is generous, but the acoustic environment can get boisterous when the post-golf or post-beach crowd rolls in during happy hour. Pro tip: keep an eye on your arrival time, as the proximity to the resort means prime dinner hours can result in a wait, and the parking lot can get tighter than a heavy tube at Pipeline as the sun begins to dip below the horizon. It remains one of the few spots where you can transition from sandy boardshorts to a casual dinner without anyone blinking an eye.

Service was fantastic, everyone was very friendly and no complaints at all for service quality from the moment we arrived. Server got a bit busy and did have to ask for the check a few times. Food however was not good at all. Meals come with a side of vegetable medley and a choice of mashed potatoes or rice. The vegetables were bland with literally no seasoning at all and mashed potatoes tasted odd. Ordered the Filet Mignon medium and it was over cooked, tough, and no pink in the middle. Was not worth it, could’ve went somewhere else. Very disappointed. Best thing was my drink.

Great food !!!!! Plenty of parking. Plenty of air conditioning seating inside and outside covered with fans. The staff is friendly, kind and courteous. This restaurant is in a private community golf course country club. The restaurant is open to the public.

Lei Lei's was an okay dinner with the price tag / wait time of a great dinner. I didn't love the service model where you select your meal/drinks before being seated, and the dishes we eventually did receive were fine but nothing exciting. I will say that the calamari appetizer was the standout, but overall the meal was only decent. For the area/expectations of Turtle Bay, I expected more.

Food was delicious. Prices are the only downfall but everyone's prices are increasing. Atmosphere was great. Service was great. Dessert was great. The cookie Sundae is a must and the lilikoi mango cheese cake was well balanced and delicious.

Wow! Service was fantastic, as were the food and drinks. Not just a golf course restaurant, so much more. Everything was so fast, but they dont rush you out. The calamari steak was amazing!! The sunset view was beautiful! And a friendly little cardinal stopped by to say hello!

We ate at our beloved Lei Lei's twice this trip and my mom wanted to go again! My mom and sister absolutely love the ahi tuna salad. I prefer the fresh garden salad or the caesar salad. The dessert is delightful too!

Great food. Fabulous view, right next to the golf course. And the staff makes you feel welcome like you're part of the family and they are genuinely happy to see you. Highly recommended.

Interesting set up. You order before you go in and sit down, don't be scared by this! Food was good we stayed at turtle bay and this resturant had more options at better prices. Steamed veggies were really good...not mushy. Salad was not worth $8 (in my opinion). The valet will drive you to snd from to dine here which was convenient. Would def come back for dinner.

Pretty decent food. The service was good as well. The dining room is a little lack luster but a beautiful setting on the golf course. The salmon and prime were both good

Very good place to eat! American grill which after a few meals of eating seafood was nice! It’s at the golf car which is about a 6 minute walk or so from the turtle bay report (all on one property). The staff were friendly and attentive and the food was very good! I got a Cobb salad and my husband got the chicken with potatoes and veggies. Our server gave us cookies as a little treat to take as we left and those were DELICIOUS! It’s more casual and has a bar inside but still a nice place. Would recommend !
