Beach House by Roy Yamaguchi
About
A Culinary Tribute to the North Shore
Overlooking the dramatic coastline of Kahuku, Beach House by Roy Yamaguchi captures the essence of Hawaii regional cuisine with a refined, ocean-side perspective. This is where the culinary legacy of Roy Yamaguchi meets the rugged, windswept beauty of Oahu’s northern tip. The space is bright and airy, designed to invite the salt air inside while you settle into the rhythm of the waves.
Savoring Island-Forward Flavors
The menu highlights the island's bounty, focusing heavily on fresh-caught seafood and locally sourced produce. You will find signature preparations that balance bold, pan-Asian influences with traditional Hawaiian ingredients. The misoyaki butterfish is a standout, melting effortlessly on the tongue, while the short ribs offer a deep, savory richness that grounds the lighter tropical flavors. Expect plates that look as vibrant as the coastal sunset, often garnished with fresh microgreens harvested from nearby North Shore farms.
Atmosphere and Coastal Character
The dining room leans into a relaxed, upscale beach aesthetic. It is an ideal spot for those winding down after a day of watching waves at nearby surf breaks or exploring the trails of the North Shore. While the service is polished and attentive, the vibe remains distinctly casual; you might hear the distant hum of local chatter competing with the crashing surf just outside. Be prepared for a bit of a trek to reach this corner of the island, and if you arrive during peak weekend hours, parking can get a bit snug as visitors filter in from the surrounding beaches. It is a place for slow meals and conversation, best enjoyed as the sky shifts from gold to deep twilight over the Pacific.

We checked in with a very cordial and friendly hostess. There were a few parties ahe of us, so we waited briefly. Within a few minutes, we were seated at a great table facing the beach. Our server recommended a cocktail and sparkling water a thoughtfully answered all our questions. We both chose th prix fixe menu. The HK classic crab cake and shrimp shumai were outstanding. The shumai was delicate and flavorful, paire with a sweet-and-tart sauce. The crab cake had a crisp exterior with a moist, superb interior which was amazing. The Caesar salad was generous and perfectly balanced, n Parmesan and toasted croutons. The surf and turf was excellent. The beef tips were tender moist, and soft. The jumbo shrimp were cooked perfectly with great texture. The mashed potatoes and vegetable medley were tender yet still had a nice bite. Everything was delicious, and we were completely stuffed Dessert was the orange dream cake-pineapple-orange mousse topped with white chocolate ganache. It was light not overly sweet, and simply heavenly the best dessert we've had in a long time. Overall, it was a fantastic dining experience.

My wife and I had dinner here as a celebration a couple months after our wedding and we had a great time. I will start by addressing the thing that I keep seeing come up in other reviews, the price of the food. Is it expensive? Yes. But you are eating at a beach front restaurant at a Ritz Carlton resort on the North shore of Hawaii, did you think it was going to be cheap? Of course not, you are paying for the experience. The setting is great, the staff was great, the menu had lots of really great options and the food was really good. If you are going here with the expectations of eating the most amazing food of your life, you are going to be disappointed. If you are looking for an excellent meal with a one of a kind view in a beautiful place, you have found the spot you are looking for.

Amazing restaurant tucked in between the Turtle Bay resort and some condo buildings. If they have a bad thing on the menu, I haven't found it yet. Tonight's service with John was fantastic and attentive even with our larger group at peak dinner time. The bar is warm and inviting with a reasonable selection of local beers and liquors and cocktails. The seafood was outstanding. And you must save space for the lava cake. Prepared fresh, it's worth the calories and the time to order it ahead.

Beach House is a wonderful beach side restaurant with amazing staff and delicious food! It has a great view of the ocean and is very close to the Turtle Bay Resort. All the food was packed full of flavor and fantastic! I had an amazing birthday dinner with a free slice of cake thanks to the Beach House!

The setting is quite nice, as it’s near the beach and has some good views of the sunset. However, the food was just average, as nothing really stood out. Some of the sauces were too sweet, and the calamari was over cooked. Fast and efficient service. Large free parking lot.

This is a delightful nook for drinks and cool breezes. I had a pineapple martini because it's their signature drink. It was wonderful. They also have a full menu and it's located right on the beach.
