Seven Brothers
About
A North Shore Family Affair
When you find yourself cruising through Kahuku, the air changes. It turns thick with the salt of the Pacific and, if you pull into the right lot, the irresistible scent of searing beef and caramelized onions. Seven Brothers isn’t just a burger joint; it is a manifestation of the Akana family’s commitment to community dining. Founded by a father and his seven sons, the restaurant carries a wholesome, high-energy spirit that defines the North Shore dining scene.
What’s Cooking on the Grill
The menu leans heavily into the classic American grill aesthetic, elevated by local freshness. The signature items are the massive, juicy burgers that demand a two-handed grip. Specifically, the 'Shem Burger' is a fan favorite, featuring bacon, cheddar, and their house-made onion rings piled high on the patty. Everything here feels intentional, from the thick-cut fries seasoned to perfection to the sheer scale of the portions. If you are coming off a long morning at the surf breaks, this is the caloric fuel you need.
The Kahuku Vibe
Expect a relaxed, open-air setting that invites sand-dusted surfers and road-tripping families alike. It is loud, vibrant, and moves at the pace of an island kitchen. A quick heads up for those driving rental cars: the parking area can get particularly tight during the lunch rush as the line snakes out the door, so prepare to exercise a bit of patience. The service is remarkably fast for the amount of labor that goes into each handmade patty. Whether you are grabbing a quick bite before heading up to the Banzai Pipeline or looking for a reliable spot for a casual dinner in the heart of the island’s windward coast, Seven Brothers delivers a straightforward, messy, and deeply satisfying meal that ignores pretension in favor of pure flavor.

Some places serve great food, but a few make you feel something. That is exactly how I felt at Seven Brothers. The Shem Burger is honestly the best burger I have had since I was a kid. I cannot fully explain it, but it tastes like home, like family, like something real. If you ever visit the North Shore, this is an absolute must. Not just for the food, but for the feeling that comes with it.❤️

Visiting from the Uk and had heard this place was amazing. Was not disappointed. Dare I say this was probably the best burger I’ve EVER had! I had the Max double and I never wanted it to end! The home fries were different but equally as lovely. Hoping to squeeze another in before I leave Hawaii

The coco and macnut shrimp are fire. I got the combo, so I had the garlic shrimp too but the coco was my favorite. It is a chill atmosphere with open air seating. Some outside and some inside but no doors on the inside part and wild chickens join you for a meal. It is counter service.

Everything was delicious. The burgers and the chips were both great. The staff were friendly and the atmosphere was really nice. I would definitely come back if I visit Hawaii again.

This was our favorite dining experience while visiting Hawaii. These burgers and fries were amazing! We all got milk shakes as well and they were also one of our favorite things. The staff was nice and spent time going around tables to talk with costumers to hear about their experience. I wish we would have had time to visit this place again. Luckily they are building locations on the mainland and we can hopefully hit one of those up in the future.

Quick service after we ordered and delivered to our table. The coconut and garlic shrimp plate was delicious. The chicken sandwich was tasty along with the burger. They have a magnificent sauce on them. Can't wait to be back.

My only complaint is I was too full of lunch from here to enjoy my dinner later that night. 😅 Honestly the food here was really good. I would eat here all the time if I had the ability to control how much of it I eat each time.

Living in Utah we were familiar with 7Brothers. Visiting our daughter going to school in Laie we thought we’d try out the OG location. So glad we stopped in Kahuku for the best experience of our trip. The food was great, as expected. But the service, the love and big scoop of Aloha spirit was well beyond expectation. Kaleb, the manager visited our table and within minutes we felt at home. . He made us feel so welcome and even chased us down in the parking lot to introduce me to someone from the kitchen before we left. It didn’t feel like a manager working the tables. It felt like I’d made a new friend. Came for the food. But I’ll be back for the people. Big fat Mahalo to Kaleb and crew. Also a shout out to Malia in the bakery for showing us the banana bread and ice cream combo!

This is a must have when visiting Oahu!!! The atmosphere is total beach vibes and the food is 100% every time we order!!! The Coconut Macadamia Nut Shrimp is a staple and you can’t go wrong with any of the other items on the menu!!! Try it all!!!

Omg so so yummy!!! Burger, coconut shrimp and fries were all amazing. As blah as fries CAN be and most places to think to put any effort into fries….these were next level delicious. Not your everyday fry.
