Delicious garlic shrimp with spicy shoyu. They have several benches to eat there. No bathrooms. A little pricier than we expected for a lunch trucks, but the big shrimp and big servings was worth it

Omg! Best shrimps ever! There was a long wait for some of the food but let me tell ya, it was well worth it!

I decided to come here cause it was popular, the shrimp was just simple garlic and butter and it was too salty I expected more for being so popular and 1 order when it’s not busy takes 45-60 min. 👎🏼

Favorite garlic shrimp spot on the island! Nothing can compare! I try to stop every trip! Heads on, shells on! "Ono grinds!"

If you’re looking for the best shrimp on this side of the island, look no further than Romy’s Kahuku Prawns and Shrimp. There are a couple of food trucks and shrimp stands nearby, but Romy’s truly stands out in every way. The shrimp here is unbelievably fresh, flavorful, and perfectly cooked — you can taste the difference immediately. It’s caught right here in their own ponds, so it doesn’t get any fresher than this. I ordered the garlic butter shrimp, and it was absolutely amazing — the sauce was rich, garlicky, and perfectly balanced with a touch of spice. The shrimp were large, juicy, and full of flavor. The rice and dipping sauce complemented the dish perfectly. Everything felt like it was made with care and attention to detail. The prices are very reasonable for the quality and portion size you get, especially compared to other food trucks in the area. The staff is friendly, the service is quick, and the overall vibe is relaxed and local. There might be a bit of a wait depending on when you go, but trust me — it’s worth every minute. If you’re exploring the North Shore, make sure Romy’s is on your list. It’s a true island gem and hands-down my favorite shrimp spot in Hawaii. Highly recommend!

The garlic shrimp is very good. The shrimp are large in quantity and size compared to other restaurants. Furthermore, the way the shrimp is sliced and cooked is well thought out and enhances the deliciousness of the shrimp. I came here again for a repeat visit! The garlic shrimp is very tasty with a nice garlic flavor. The wait time is about 60-70% of the time the staff told us it would be ready.

They have very good food, but the service is not too good, we drove 1 hour to reach them. They didn't give you bags or empty boxes for leftovers, they don't have bathrooms , you need to drive to a public beach to use a bathroom. So if you go, you must have wipes to clean your hand before and after eating because it is a mess to eat it but we don't mind for the yummy food :) Also have extra empty bags and box if you would like to take an extra food or left over. It is a good truck not a restaurant just to know. Call to be sure they are open before you go.

Delicious shrimp! It’s definitely worth the drive out to this truck. We were told to come here upon recommendation of our photographer who is local to Oahu. She said they have the best shrimp in the north shore. She wasn’t wrong! The shrimp/prawns are huge and super flavourful. I love that they have the heads on. The crispy fried garlic also makes their shrimp stand out from the other shrimp trucks. The rice was perfectly cooked and was amazing with the sauce and garlic. They have lots of tables and a hand washing station. We’d definitely come back for more shrimp!

When we visited in late March, it became a good truck instead of the building, not sure what happened. Certainly the capacity of the truck made food production slower. The popular #1 combo takes 40+ minutes while the steamed shrimps and prawns we ordered took 20+ minutes as well. A little pricey, but you are paying for freshness. Shrimps are plump and juicy, with a sweet taste. Prawns were just okay. It's popular among the locals with many of them calling ahead to place order first.
