Nahiku Cafe

I stopped by here expecting to find some interesting local crafts and food while on my drive, but the experience was a bit of a letdown. It felt pretty quiet and many of the stalls were either closed or didn't have much to offer, which made the whole stop feel a bit pointless. The area itself is lush and beautiful because of the surrounding jungle, but the marketplace lacked the energy and variety I was hoping for. I spent more time walking back and forth trying to find something to look at than actually shopping or eating. It might be better at different times of the day, but my visit to Nahiku Marketplace

Amazing, the Huli Huli chicken was phenomenal, I had a fresh coconut and chatted with the coconut vendor and pet his dog. I also got some Spam Musabi which was lava hot and I had to eat that at the hotel later but it was excellent too.

Made a random stop here on the road to Hana and got a lemon bar to try. This might be the first time I had a lemon bar from a store and it was actually quite nice. That lemon flavor actually came through and the texture was also really soft!

Small marketplace along the Road to Hana consisting of a handful of eateries and shops. Parking is limited. The businesses here run on island-time so it's hard to figure out what their operating hours are.

Fantastic roadside bbq spot! Chef was so kind and had us laughing in no time. It is cash only so come prepared! Huge portions - chicken was phenomenal. Can’t wait to come back and try the ribs!

We got there late so our choice was fish n chips or pizza... down fo da fish! Hubbs n I both got fried fish... nice cook on da fish, very tasty, so were da fries. We got mango tea which tasted and had texture like a milk tea... still refreshing. Enjoying this meal, it started to rain which, to me, was the perfect ending to a VERY late lunch or early dinner! Everyone at the shops, full of aloha, on our way out we got banana bread, checked out local art, great little stop to and from Hana!!

Amazing ribs, probably the best we've ever had! It was $26 for a huge plate of ribs, sticky rice and some veggies. We split an order and it was plenty of food for two people. The huli huli chicken also looked amazing. There are a couple of stores here, one of which was a very pleasant surprise with good quality jewelry and items made by local artists. We found a beautiful necklace as a souvenir of our day. A great stop, but we really wish they had bathrooms! There were porta potties on site, but they looked neglected and were locked.

The best porks ribs we’ve ever had! We stopped for Huli Huli Chicken and Pork Ribs and we were amazed at how incredible the ribs were. They’ll give you the recipe for the rub if you ask, but I have to believe the slow-cooking is what makes these ribs and the chicken so special. It comes with steamed veggies. We also went next door for a fresh coconut drink prepared to order. When you’re done, they’ll split it in half and dig out the fresh meat. This is so worth the wait (on the road) and the stop.

Nice market on the way to Hana. Great to stretch the legs if nothing else. We got her won a Sunday and a bunch of the shops were closed for some reason. Anyway. You could get great coffee here. Huli huli chicken bbq. Art work. And take some silly stick-your-head-through-a-hole photos.

What a sneaky little treasure trove of things they sell here! From so ono lunch plates, snacks and fresh fruit to a fun little coffee spot - food is covered. Plus there are knick knacks, one of a kind jewelry and other sparkly or unique souvenirs here. We stayed for an hour but could have hung out all day!!!
