Hāna Farms Roadside Stand, Pizza Oven and Bakery
About
A Slice of Jungle Paradise
Pulling off the winding road to Hana feels like stumbling into a secret tropical garden. At Hāna Farms, the air is thick with the scent of smoldering kiawe wood and ripening bananas. This isn't your typical roadside pit stop; it is an open-air pavilion where the pizza oven serves as the heart of the operation. You’ll find locals and travelers alike grabbing a table under the canopy, listening to the distant rustle of breadfruit trees while waiting for their pies.
The Wood-Fired Difference
The culinary focus here is uncompromisingly fresh. The signature pizzas are blistered to perfection in a massive wood-burning oven, resulting in a thin, charred crust that supports locally sourced toppings. Beyond the savory pies, the bakery counter is a highlight of the East Maui coast. Their famous banana bread—often still warm—is dense, moist, and a mandatory purchase for the drive back. Whether you opt for a savory pesto pie or a loaf of sourdough, the ingredients are pulled directly from their on-site organic gardens whenever possible.
Know Before You Go
Finding a spot to sit during the busy mid-afternoon rush can be a bit of a sport, as the communal tables fill up quickly with weary travelers looking to recharge. It is a casual, self-service environment, so be prepared to navigate the gravel lot and place your order at the counter. The atmosphere is unpretentious and ruggedly authentic—the perfect setting to slow down and experience the true flavor profile of the Hana region. Just keep an eye on your crusts; the local chickens are notoriously opportunistic and aren't afraid to ask for a crumb of your sourdough.

This place is amazing! A must stop in Hāna. The food was delicious, best mixed plate we’ve had on the island and the people working were so friendly and accommodating. They have super clean bathrooms as well. This was my second time coming and will be back again. They also have fruit, bake goods and gifts to purchase.

Roadside stand? Exquisite. Cheap yet delicious lilikoi and crunchy, flavorful banana bread. Pizza restaurant? Hate it. We waited an hour for two pizzas and were one of the first people to order. And the quality of the pizza is so mid. Food options are slim in the area, but don’t be tempted by this place, that’s for sure.

This is a great place to stop for some delicious, freshly baked pizza. The crust is incredibly fresh, and they offer a variety of pizzas, salads, and beverages. There’s also a fruit stand with coffee and fresh banana bread. The fruit stand is open until 5 p.m., while the pizza place is open until 4:30 p.m. on weekdays.

Honestly, I have major regrets for not getting the pizza here! We came here to try the banana bread and got the chocolate chip banana bread - I am at a loss of words to say how good this was! It is definitely by far the best banana bread I have ever had in my entire life. husband is a major fan of banana desserts and he actually said the same thing ! The banana bread was melt in your mouth soft even when we had it later in the day. The chocolate chips were so well distributed and everything was so good. We had a hard time stopping and actually ended up finishing that whole loaf among the two of us. Regarding that pizza - I went to use the restroom while we made a stop here and the pizza smells so phenomenal! There was also quite a. Crowd and a lot of tables were occupied even on a Sunday afternoon. So clearly this place is good!

Hana Farms is a delightful place to stop and eat on the road to Hana. The dining area is open air. The atmosphere is relaxing. The ordering process is easy and efficient. The prices are average for Maui. The pizza size is 14 inches. They are cooked fresh to order and comes out in 10 to 15 min.The beverages are local varieties. Plenty tour vans stop in however, they have separate dining area from the walk up business. The place is clean as are the restrooms. Parking is plenty and free. The campus offers a gift shop and farm tours as well. Great place to stop.

This beautiful place is on the road to Hana and the perfect place to stop by and have some great pizzas. We were very hungry and each pizza was amazing. We ordered one vegetarian and another with meat. The service staff, the chef and cooks behind the counter were very nice despite attending many hungry tourists who just stopped looking for a decent food place. This restaurant looks like a nature resort with beautiful views and greenery all around.
