A Hub of Maui Creativity in the Heart of Wailuku

Stepping into Wailuku Coffee Company feels like walking into the town's collective living room. Situated right in the historic center of Maui’s government district, this spot is where local artists, morning commuters, and island visitors intersect. The air is thick with the rich, earthy scent of freshly roasted beans, and the hum of conversation is often punctuated by the clinking of ceramic mugs against the backdrop of acoustic tracks.

Sip and Savor Local Flavor

This isn't your average quick-stop cafe. They pride themselves on supporting regional agriculture, featuring coffee sourced from local farms whenever possible. Whether you are grabbing a perfectly balanced pour-over or one of their signature mochas, the focus remains on the craft. If you arrive hungry, the glass display case is usually stocked with hearty breakfast wraps and house-made pastries that provide a buttery, flaky contrast to the bold acidity of their espresso.

The Wailuku Character

The space is unpretentious and industrial, with exposed rafters and walls adorned by revolving exhibits from Maui-based photographers and painters. It is a fantastic place to open a laptop and get some work done, or simply to watch the bustle of Main Street through the oversized front windows. Be aware that during the mid-morning rush, seating can become a hot commodity, and the parking situation in the immediate vicinity requires a bit of patience—the trade-off for being in the most authentic part of the island. It is the go-to anchor for anyone looking to escape the resort scene and experience the genuine rhythm of Wailuku town life.

Had a turkey sandwich (cranberry something on a croissant) and the daily special lemonade. Both were very tasty and the lemonade was refreshing for such a hot day. Wait wasn't long and it was average price for Hawai'i (i.e. a little expensive). Lots of seating outside. Quick and friendly service. They accept card payments here. Water is available in the interior right side dining area, by the path to the washrooms. Great location near the theatres. They also had extended kitchen hours for the Wailuku Film Festival. Seems like an acceptable place to work. Someone was painting and a few others on laptops. Most other tables seemed quick turnover of folks just grabbing a quick bite or coffee. It was moderately busy when I went and I had no problem securing a seat.

One of my favorite places to get coffee. Great baked goods/pastries. Food here is good, but a little pricey. Love the veggie bagel with bacon or avocado added. The Thai Iced Coffee, Coconut Butter Coffee (I like to add white chocolate) the Espresso Milk Shake, or just a Drip Medium Maui Brew are my favorites. They always have local art and goods on display sale if you are looking for gifts.

Stopped in for a quick smoothing a little bite to eat. It is a quaint little hole-in-the-wall coffee shop that has local art on the walls. It is a wonderful place to stop in and enjoy a little breather.

Our food hit the spot after our hike at waihee ridge. The coffee was great too. Was able to snag street parking right out front. There are outdoor & indoor seating options available. Bought a cute sticker to go as well.

I wanted some coffee and fruit to start the day. The smoothie bowl isnt as thick as Acai, but it still hit the spot, especially with the warmer weather. The coffee was smooth and cold, just how you’d expect it to be. The food options looked great, so I’ll definitely have to come back and try more.

This place is a gem! Such a clean and calm spot. Perfect place to read a book or do some work. On the quieter side when I went during afternoon hours, but extremely comfortable especially due to the friendly and accommodating baristas & the constant, soothing wind from the coast. The coffee was great and fairly priced, can't wait to try more from Wailuku Coffee Co.

Mmmm yummmm! Great coffee shop in Old town Wailuku. Stopped in while walking old town on a sunny afternoon. Ordered an iced mocha and croissant and everything was delicious. They have a nice selection of baked goods to choose from. There’s a bathroom in the back also.
