The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf (344 Kehalani Village Drive)
About
A Morning Ritual in the Heart of Kehalani
Positioned conveniently within the Kehalani Village center, this Wailuku outpost serves as a reliable anchor for residents commuting down from the foothills of the West Maui Mountains. Unlike the bustling tourism hubs, this spot maintains a steady, local rhythm. You will often find students hitting the books, remote workers finishing morning tasks, or locals grabbing a quick caffeine fix before navigating the Maui traffic.
Signature Sips and Savory Bites
Known globally for pioneering the blended coffee category, the menu here remains anchored by their signature Ice Blended drinks. Whether you lean toward the richness of the Mocha or the smooth, floral notes of their vanilla-infused powder, the consistency is what keeps the Kehalani crowd coming back. Beyond the cold blends, their tea selection—specifically the Oolong and Earl Grey varieties—offers a fragrant alternative for those looking to skip the jittery coffee spike. Pair your drink with a warmed butter croissant or their classic spinach and feta wrap for a quick meal.
The Local Experience
The space is bright and airy, defined by the clean, modern aesthetic found in most suburban shopping plazas. Large windows pull in the Pacific light, making the interior feel open despite the compact footprint. Be mindful that during the morning rush—specifically between 7:00 and 8:30 AM—the drive-thru line can spill toward the edge of the lot, so navigating the parking area requires a bit of patience. It is an unpretentious environment where the aroma of roasted beans hits you the moment you step through the glass doors, creating a welcoming atmosphere for anyone navigating their way through Central Maui.

The coffee is overpriced and mediocre at best. No whip cream on hot drinks. When you order extra hot it’s always warm. I’ve gotten the runs from this place with their lukewarm milk. They also can’t do a long shot espresso, even tho all it is just letting the espresso pit water out longer. This place is should not be considered a coffee shop. Worst part is the workers. Manager is rude and no one is ever happy. The place will be empty and you’ll have one person making drinks, one person at the drive thru, and one in the back or walking around and be ignored for five minutes before someone takes your order. I do not recommend this place.

Not really a coffee drinker, but love their cold drinks and food items! I like their baristas.I appreciate the hard, multitasking work it takes (especially with staff shortages) and because I know I’m about to get something really ono and because I am too lazy to make these drink and food items myself so I have no reason to complain about this convenience. I mean it’s a small coffee shop with a convenient drive-thru on an island 🏝

Love The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf’s blended coffee on a hot day. This location was extremely clean and very spacious. This is my go-to coffee spot after a long flight from California. The perfect way to start your vacation.
