About
A Melodic Morning in Wailuku
Stepping into Maui Coffee Attic feels less like a quick caffeine stop and more like walking into a friend’s vintage living room. Located right in the heart of historic Wailuku, this spot serves as a cultural anchor for the town. You will hear the hum of local musicians tuning their ukuleles or guitars, as the space doubles as one of the most intimate live performance venues on the island.
The Brew and the Backbeat
The scent of freshly roasted beans dominates the air, mingling with the slightly dusty, nostalgic charm of old-school sound equipment. Their menu leans into classic island comforts; grab an iced mocha and a freshly baked scone while you scout for a seat near the small stage. It is an ideal refuge for songwriters, remote workers, or anyone looking to escape the coastal crowds for a slice of real-deal Maui community life.
Know Before You Go
The space is wonderfully eclectic, though be prepared to squeeze in during their popular open mic nights or weekend morning concerts. Parking in the surrounding blocks can be a bit of a treasure hunt during busy hours, but that is simply part of the charm of exploring the winding streets of Central Maui. Whether you are there for the robust local blends or to catch a rising star in the Maui music scene, the atmosphere remains unpretentious, welcoming, and deeply rooted in the artistic spirit of the valley isle.

Went by twice during our stay in Wailuku. One of the few places that seems to have decaf options which was nice. Tried their struesel coffee cake which was yummy. We also got the spicy breakfast burrito and the avocado toast with egg. Both were delicious. Prices are on the higher end and the whole thing came to over $40. There is outdoor seating and each time I went there was a different musician playing live music which was lovely.

I heard about live music mornings at the Coffee Attic on local radio and decided to go early for breakfast and stay for some traditional Hawaiian music on Monday at 10:30 a.m. What a treat! This is such a cool venue and off the beaten path.

Nice local place that is warm and inviting. Soft music playing. A wall of guitars and ukuleles for anyone to try. Comfy chairs, soft banter from the regulars and the smell of freshly brewed coffee. Had a great Thai iced coffee and a BLT that tasted SO fresh. I swear they grow the tomatoes and lettuce out back, it's so fresh. Another favorite was the peach dish with a buttery crust and peaches. I'm back home now but send much aloha and mahalo for the kindness!
