Wok & Grill Express
About
A Neighborhood Staple in Central Oahu
Tucked away in the heart of Wahiawa, Wok & Grill Express serves as a go-to spot for locals craving generous portions of comfort food. This no-frills kitchen is perfect for those busy days when you need a hearty, flavorful meal without the long wait of a sit-down establishment.
Sizzling Plates and Local Favorites
The kitchen specializes in classic wok-fired dishes that pack a punch. You will hear the rhythmic clatter of the wok and smell the unmistakable sear of garlic and ginger the moment you walk through the door. Their menu leans into traditional Chinese-American takeout staples, with a heavy emphasis on fresh, crunchy vegetables and savory sauces that coat steamed rice perfectly. Whether you are grabbing a quick lunch before heading up to the North Shore or picking up dinner for the family, the consistent heat of their signature stir-fry selections never misses the mark.
The Wahiawa Experience
The environment here is strictly functional; it is built for efficiency rather than lounging. While the space is compact and can get quite busy during the peak lunch rush, the staff moves quickly to keep the line flowing. Pro tip: keep an eye out for parking, as the lot can be a tight squeeze during the mid-day crunch. It is the kind of place where the food does the talking, providing a reliable, belly-filling experience that captures the unpretentious spirit of Central Oahu’s culinary landscape.

This restaurant just opened around mid Jan 2026 (next to the subways and foodland) and I went to give it a try. I’ve tried about 5 dishes so far and everything I had was good. It’s a very good Chinese take-out place in Wahiawa. My favorite so far: (Feb 4 UPDATE) 1) Beef chow fun (I tried this again and there is the wok hei flavor. This might be my favorite dish here so far!!!) And some other dish I loved. - salt and pepper dishes!! - roast pork and char sui!! (Roast pork was crispy and char siu had a wonderful flavor while being tender. Roast pork was much better the 2nd time I had, and I appreciate them letting me know they made a bad batch and didn’t get the flavor right one day and told me to come tomorrow for a better one). I enjoy eating this with either pork with cabbage dish or a choy sum dish. - dry pot chicken - mapo tofu - custom beef dish (beef with soft tofu and scallion) Very good hospitality, thank you!!!

Been here 3 times now and have totally enjoyed the food all three times. The portions are generous and I get two meals from one plate. Ingredients taste fresh and are prepared to order. The dining area only has 3 tables (4th one is more for take out orders). It's tqo 4 tops and 1 two top. So it's a but small but clean and comfortable. Regardless of whether you eat in or take out, the food is served in take out containers. If you eat in they provide a cup of water for free. Only complaint is they only have crispy noodle and no cake noodle. They will tell you it's the same but it's not. The crispy noodle is one big sheet folded in half and entire thing is fried all the way through. No soft juicy center like cake noodle. They also use chow mein noodles so it doesn't absorb the gravy the way cake noodle does. I liked that they gave the gravy in a separate container too so it didn't make the noodles soft while in transport. One stand out dish was their roasted pork. The fat melted in my mouth. The skin was crisp without being hard, and it wasn't oily either. Char Siu was a little on the sweet side, but also good.

Today, I passed by the newly opened Yummy Kitchen while shopping at Foodland. The interior decoration was very cozy, and the prices were affordable. The food was delicious and inexpensive. The freshly fried French fries were crispy on the outside and tender on the inside; I couldn't stop eating them while they were hot. The staff had excellent service attitude and even gave me free fried dumplings. They also have a score card where you can get a free meal after 10 stamps. I will definitely come back next time. I highly recommend this restaurant.
