A Sweet Escape in Central Oahu
Tucked away in the historic plantation town of Wahiawa, Uber Factory has earned its reputation as a local landmark for those traversing the center of Oahu. This isn't just a place to grab a snack; it is a community staple where the humid island air meets the icy crunch of finely shaved ice. If you are heading up to the North Shore or returning from a day of exploring the interior of the island, this stop provides a necessary sugar rush.
The Signature Shave Ice Experience
The menu focuses on generous portions and vibrant, house-made syrups that capture tropical flavors like lilikoi, guava, and mango. The texture of their ice is famously fine—soft enough to soak up the syrup without turning into a watery puddle, yet structured enough to hold its mound. Beyond the classic shave ice, they are known for their snack selection, which mirrors the eclectic tastes of Hawaii's plantation heritage. You will hear the consistent hum of the ice machine buzzing in the background, a rhythmic sound that locals associate with hot afternoons and cooling down.
Practical Tips for Your Visit
The shop keeps a modest, utilitarian aesthetic that reflects the laid-back culture of Wahiawa. Be mindful that parking can be a bit of a puzzle during peak weekend hours as cars move through the main drag, but the service moves quickly. It is an ideal spot for families or solo travelers looking to support a homegrown business rather than a generic franchise. Grab a spoon, pick a bench nearby, and enjoy the simple pleasure of a cold treat in the heart of the island.

We absolutely love the tarts here and can’t say enough about the friendly and welcoming owner. We first tried their tarts in Dean & DeLuca in Waikiki, where we fell in love with the Kona Mocha flavor, it quickly became our favorite. When we found out Dean & DeLuca no longer carried that flavor, we made a special trip to the shop itself, and it was so worth it. The tarts are made in batches, so the flavor selection can vary depending on when you visit, but that just adds to the charm and excitement. Whether it’s your favorite flavor or a new one to try, you can’t go wrong. Definitely a must-visit for tart lovers.

Aloha Everyone! Here is another review long overdue. It’s right in my current hometown of Wahiawa, the famous Uber Factory and their delicious little tarts! Today’s offerings (look for them daily on their facebook page) are: The original Uber tarts, Kona Mocha tarts, Ube Haupia tarts, The new Mango Crunch tarts and also new, Ube Milk Cake. I will review all the ones available today but I wasn’t able to get the Ube Milk Cake ☹️ next time! The original Ube tarts are yummy , not too sweet. The best thing I love about these tarts are that they are bite size so if you’re counting calories or want to sample a little or a bunch, it’s perfect. Great with coffee or tea. My favorite of today was the Ube Haupia tarts. Delicious! Once again, just the right amount of sweetness along with their buttery shell. Although I’m not a coffee person, I found the Kona Mocha tarts quite yummy as well, I have a feeling my mom will love this one a lot. I’m allergic to Mango so I wasn’t able to sample the Mango Crunch tarts, but it got two thumbs up from the rest of my family. They extended their hours once again. So currently it’s Wednesday, Friday & Saturday’s from 9:00 am - 2:00 pm. The shop is very tiny and parking is extremely limited so allow yourself extra time and perhaps patience if you stop by to treat yourself to something sweet if your in the area. Cash Only establishment. Mahalo for reading and always support local! 🩷
