Koa Pancake House (703 California Ave)
About
A Morning Staple in Central Oahu
Stepping into Koa Pancake House on California Avenue feels like the quintessential Wahiawa morning routine. You will hear the constant rhythm of sizzling griddles and the hum of locals catching up before heading toward the North Shore or the base. It isn't a place for white-tablecloth service; it is a straightforward, no-nonsense breakfast joint where the coffee is hot and the portions are designed to fuel a long day.
Fluffy Stacks and Local Flavors
The kitchen is best known for its signature pancakes—light, airy, and golden-brown. If you prefer something savory, the loco moco is a crowd favorite, featuring a thick patty blanketed in savory gravy that hits the spot when you are craving classic Hawaiian comfort food. The Portuguese sausage and eggs remain a reliable go-to for those who grew up on island-style breakfast staples.
The Wahiawa Breakfast Experience
Be prepared for a bustling environment during the weekend morning rush. While the space keeps things simple, the fast-paced energy is part of its charm. One minor quirk regulars know: parking can be a bit of a challenge right out front during peak hours, so you might find yourself scouting for a spot along the street or in the nearby bays. It’s the kind of spot where you grab a plate, find a booth, and watch the central Oahu community start their day in real-time.

Mouthwatering!! My favorite on the Menu so far 😅. Trio 2 Links, 2 Bacon, 2 Portuguese Sausage. I get it with fried Rice (ham, bacon, green onions) and two fried eggs over medium 🤤 NEVER DISAPPOINTS 🧑🏼🍳🤌🏼

Love their Portuguese sausage. Pancakes were fluffy and fresh. The bacon was cooked just how I like it, not too crispy. Portion is big. Priced very well too! Parking can be a little tight. There’s street parking nearby. Service was quick and friendly.

Delicious! The portions are huge so order wisely. We got the loco moco, spam plate with fried rice, and a macadamia waffle. Everything was hot and fresh. The coffee was good too. You order at the counter, but they have plenty of menus available so you can go get a seat and think about what to order. We were there early on a Thursday and it was nice and quiet. Also super clean accessible bathrooms. There is a small parking lot available.
