Golden Coin Bake Shop & Restaurant (661 Kilani Ave)
About
A Taste of the Philippines in Central Oahu
Stepping into Golden Coin Bake Shop & Restaurant brings you straight to the heart of Filipino comfort food. Located right on Kilani Avenue, this Wahiawa staple serves as a cornerstone for locals looking for a quick breakfast or a hearty plate lunch. The air is almost always thick with the scent of freshly baked pan de sal and simmering adobo, grounding the experience in genuine, home-style cooking.
Signature Bites and Island Traditions
The menu is a deep dive into classic Filipino cuisine. Their pancit bihon and crispy lumpia are standard orders for a reason, but the real star remains the bakery case. Watching regulars grab boxes of bibingka or mochi to take home is a common sight. Chef-owner and their team have kept the recipes consistent for years, maintaining a loyal following that stretches far beyond the Wahiawa town limits.
The Experience
Don't expect white-tablecloth service here. It is loud, busy, and often crowded, especially during the lunch rush when the line stretches toward the door. Parking in this part of Wahiawa can be a bit of a challenge, so come prepared to circle the block or walk a short distance. It is an unpretentious environment, perfect for a casual lunch where the focus is entirely on the food rather than the decor. Whether you are a long-time resident or passing through Central Oahu on your way to the North Shore, this spot offers a reliable, no-frills look at Filipino-Hawaiian culinary culture.

Only place on Oahu I know with Ube ice cream! The lechon and fried chicken is pretty good. Pancit is the bomb. Chicken adobo was okay.

I was craving Banana Lumpia so I had my sister drive me to Golden Coin here in Wahiawa . I really like their Banana Lumpia, sweet and crunchy 🩷 along with their breads. My family likes the pick your choice hot food bar with lots of different food options- fried rice, fried noodles, bbq stick etc. The Honey Dew Bubble drink is very refreshing on a hot day, especially since summer is just around the corner, perfect to cool you down. They also have a freezer so you can conveniently have something on hand to eat at home. I grabbed a bag of frozen Manapuas in the freezer for my nephew so he can just nuke it in the microwave for a quick snack after school . Employees are friendly and they make sure the hot food keeps coming out. Lots of choices and very satisfying if you’re in a rush for a quick meal. Convenient parking available on their private lot. 👍 Updated: 03/03/2025 My Sister said the pork guisantes was really good and my mom enjoyed the chicken adobo. My husband however, didn’t think any of the dishes had flavor. The Lechon, chicken adobo, bbq stick, noodles or the chicken 😓 My banana lumpia was still crunchy & yummy though.

This is an attack! Gr! My mom ordered Monggo beans but instead what she got was a food cup filled with Monggo soup and only a pitiful amount of beans. Other than that this place can be nice with the Spanish rolls and pandesal. Halo-Halo's texture is all over the place but I guess it isn't for me. The tapioca smoothies are nice. The Filipino treats are nice. Service is prettty chill. You get some surprising parking. I am a Filipino, Mexican born in Hawaii, raised primarily on my Filipino side. I get the reasonable gist of the culture. I rate this place 3.8 stars out of 5.
