A Taste of Local Island Flavor in Laie

When you find yourself cruising along the North Shore, look for the brightly painted setup that locals rely on for a genuine plate lunch. Ah You Hungry? Tita's Grill captures the spirit of Hawaiian comfort food, serving up portions designed to satisfy after a long session in the Pacific surf. The air near the truck is thick with the scent of savory grilled meats and sweet, caramelized pineapple, a hallmark of their signature island-style plates.

The North Shore Experience

This isn't a place for fine china or white tablecloths; it is all about grabbing a box of piping hot garlic shrimp or perfectly seasoned kalbi and finding a spot on a nearby tailgate or bench. The service is fast and friendly, reflecting the laid-back rhythm of the community. You might have to navigate a gravel patch or two to get your order, but the short wait is rewarded with food that tastes like a backyard barbecue hosted by family.

What to Expect at the Window

The menu leans heavily into local favorites, balancing rich, savory flavors with the refreshing crunch of fresh slaw and mounds of steamed rice. It is the ideal stop for road trippers exploring the windward coast who want to trade overpriced tourist traps for authentic, reliable fuel. Be prepared for a bit of a breeze while you wait—it is part of the charm of eating outdoors in Laie. Whether you are a resident grabbing a quick lunch or a traveler seeking a real taste of the islands, Tita’s Grill delivers a meal that feels honest, hearty, and undeniably Hawaiian.

Had the Killa Moco from here (It's like Loco Moco, but with even more things packed on to the plate). It was absolutely delicious, and was quite filling as well! Had to walk around a bit to find somewhere to sit and eat, and I found a covered area with picnic tables outside of another food truck. I'm going to anticipate all these food trucks work together, because nobody said anything as I sat and ate, so that's nice.

Everyone on the menu is so delicious! Portuguese sausage breakfast sandwich, omelette supreme over a bed of rice with extra cheese was bomb. Portions are big and service was great. Will go again and highly recommend to others!

Stopped here for a quick bite before the Polynesian cultural center. I got the garlic chicken with rice and it was delicious. Would get again. Only waited about 6 minutes.

We had a fantastic breakfast at this food truck. We stayed at the nearby hotel and would definitely recommend walking down here for breakfast verse the hotel's restaurant, it was so much better. The French toast especially was crazy good. The staff of the truck were super friendly as well.

This was one of the best food trucks I've eaten from. Tita's is situated in the Hukilau Marketplace right by the entrance of the Polynesian Cultural Centre (PCC). It's a great place to stop by and fuel up before entering the PCC as I didn't see many food places in there. The food here was delicious, well cooked and very flavourful, and the portions were quite large (hard to tell from my pics). It's definitely well worth the money if you arrive hungry. There's about a 10 minute wait for them to prepare your food, but there are some tables and chairs with umbrellas to shield you from the sun right in front of the truck, so you can relax while you wait for them to call your number.
