About
Overview & Vibe
Located in the heart of historic Koloa, Break + Feast offers a distinctively casual yet elevated take on Hawaiian breakfast culture. The atmosphere is centered around an airy, open-concept design that captures the laid-back essence of Kauai. While the restaurant experiences the ebbs and flows of island tourism, it remains a favorite for those seeking creative, flavor-forward morning staples that lean into local ingredients rather than standard hotel fare.
Menu Highlights & Must-Try Dishes
The culinary philosophy here emphasizes bold, tropical profiles. Whether you are craving something sweet or savory, the menu aims to surprise the palate:
- Lilikoi Pancakes: These are the undisputed stars of the menu. These thick, airy pancakes are topped with a vibrant, tangy lilikoi (passionfruit) curd, candied macadamia nuts, and a decadent salted honey butter. The contrast between the bright fruit acidity and the rich, buttery base is a masterclass in balance.
- Koloa Signature Hash Browns: Forget the frozen variety; these house-made hash browns are frequently cited by locals as a highlight for their crispy, golden exterior and perfectly seasoned, fluffy interior.
- Island Fruit Medley: A refreshing, seasonal selection of Kauai-grown fruits that provides a lighter alternative to the heavier griddle items, perfect for starting a hot day in Koloa.
Insider Dining & Tips
Because Break + Feast is a high-traffic destination in a small town, patience is a virtue. The restaurant does not always offer traditional reservation systems during peak morning hours, so arriving before 8:30 AM is your best strategy to avoid the longest waits. If you are dining with a large group, prepare for potential delays in service as the kitchen focuses on high-quality, made-to-order dishes. If you find the wait too long, use the time to explore the charming, plantation-era storefronts of Koloa Town located just steps away.
Location & Parking
Break + Feast is conveniently located at 5460 Koloa Rd, Unit A201. Visitors will find ample public parking in the shared shopping center lots surrounding the building. It is easily accessible if you are heading from Poipu toward the Lihue area. We recommend checking your GPS as you enter Koloa town, as the historic street layout can be tight during mid-day traffic. It is a perfect stop before heading out for a day of snorkeling at Poipu Beach or hiking in the nearby lush landscapes.

Loved the Lilikoi pancakes!!
Break + Feast delivers creative, flavor‑forward island cuisine with generous portions and a menu that blends Hawaiian comfort food with modern twists. Service was good, and while the restaurant can get busy, the food is worth the wait. I had the Lilikoi Pancakes—served with lilikoi curd, candied macadamia nuts, and salted honey butter—one of Break + Feast’s signature items.

The pancakes as thick and airy, making even a single pancake surprisingly filling. The lilikoi curd adds a bright, tangy passionfruit flavor that cuts through the richness of the pancake and butter. The candied macadamia nuts add crunch and a toasted nuttiness that complements the tropical flavors. I loved the sweet‑salty finish of the salted honey butter, which melts into the warm pancake and ties everything together. I ordered 2 pancakes, but you might consider ordering just one due to their size unless you're really hungry.

Average experience
The service was slow and the people were not that friendly. It was just ok. The food was ok, but I will give them props on the hash browns. I won’t be back.cheers!

Only the pancakes
Pancakes were very good but the rest of the food was awful. Very greasy and made one of my boys sick! Service was subpar as well. Plenty of better places to eat on the island in my humble opinion.
