The Olelo Room
About
A Living Library of Hawaiian Language
Stepping into The Olelo Room is less about grabbing a quick drink and more about immersing yourself in a tribute to the Hawaiian language. The interior serves as a visual encyclopedia, with local words and their meanings etched into the walls, creating an educational backdrop for a quiet evening. It is the kind of place where the air feels a bit cooler and the pace of Kapolei slows down, making it an ideal hideaway for those looking to escape the busier resort crowds nearby.
Sip on History
The bartenders here treat cocktail craft with the same reverence as the language displayed around the room. You will find a menu that emphasizes local ingredients, featuring signature drinks like the Kona Coffee Old Fashioned, which uses locally sourced beans to provide a robust, earthy kick that lingers on the palate. If you prefer something lighter, their house-made lilikoi infusions provide a bright, tart contrast to the humid West Oahu nights.
The Practicalities of the West Side
The atmosphere is consistently mellow, punctuated by the soft clinking of glassware and the rhythmic hum of island music playing at just the right volume to allow for conversation. Be aware that because it shares space within the Aulani resort complex, parking can be a bit of a trek during peak weekend hours—you might find yourself walking a bit from the structure, but the transition from the bustling resort lobby to this sophisticated lounge makes the walk worthwhile. It is a preferred spot for travelers wanting a sophisticated nightcap that feels rooted in the culture of the islands rather than a generic hotel bar experience.

This is a terrific bar. All the bartenders speak Hawaiian which is very special. The theming of the bar is shadow boxes filled with a wood carving of an animal or object and the Hawaiian word for it underneath. The bartenders are great and all the drinks are well balanced. If you are a DVC member they offer a mixology class to learn how to make some of these drinks but with small twists. The food is very tasty and pairs well with the cocktails. Definitely a must try

Our visit has excellent sushi, fast service, and a high quality experience. If your family doesn't like sushi you may find the menu limited. Note that Wednesdays and Thursdays are great days to go here and enjoy live music along with dinner. Would definitely recommend on those nights.

The Olelo Room was really delicious. They serve small plate dishes. We really liked the steak bites. The spicy teriyaki sauce complimented the steak’s flavor really well. Our server was really good and made this a great experience.

I dream of these pillowy light and delicious Malasada donuts! How did I not know about this on my first visit 3 years ago? Ordered hot and fresh. Would be fun if they made them Mickey shaped like the beignets at Port Orleans!

As you can imagine, the 'Ōlelo Room in Disney's Aulani is quite expensive. With that out of the way...the food was phenomenal. I had an Ube martini and steak bites that may have been the best steak I've ever had. We also got a sushi roll to share and it was so fresh and full of flavor. The service was great and made even better when our waiter got on stage and danced a hula. It was all so lovely that we went back a second time just for the steak bites...and had the macadamia old fashioned-definitely not my favorite- much too sweet for my liking. Take the time to look around at the decor- 'Ōlelo means language and all around the room are people, animals, characters, etc and how to say them in Hawaiian. It's really creative.

The sushi in this place is great. Service was a little slow and they never refilled the water glass . Atmosphere at night is okay, but they need better lighting. Even though there was a light at the table it wasn’t enough light to see the menu or in my case to see the food I was eating. Live music is a nice touch.

Highly recommended even if you have young kids. NO LONGER A BUFFET. Excellent full service fine dining. Our Server was Norman; I have never encountered a more forgiving and graciously tolerant Man. Here we were, settled at a lovely table and ready to appreciate an excellent eating experience when our 2-year old granddaughter nocked over a glassful across a third of our table. Norman didn’t utter a sound and quickly order to our table. Later when our 4-year old granddaughter loudly objected to her specifically ordered Disney Pizza, we were not ejected from the restaurant; instead we noticed 4-year olds objecting with similarly loud sounds … it was a soundscape. With that said, the food was excellent and worthy of praise. The courteous service was aboveboard and appreciated beyond words; thank you, Norman. Dinner was more than the fixed price of $62, i.e., more than $100 per adult because we tipped generously and appreciatively for the excellent food quality and willing service. (Please click 👍🏼. Thank you. )

This is a great place to hang out after a long day. They have Sushi, appetizers and desserts along with a good selection of fancy drinks. You can check the online menus to see if it fits your budget. The portions are good and can be used as a light dinner on nights after you over indulge at lunch. The Hawaiian music is great. The service is as attentive as you want

This restaurant serves small bar food and sushi/sashimi dishes. They also have a full bar where you could easily get any cocktails you want. The staff were friendly throughout our time there. The sushi portion was large for what I was expecting since it's a Disney property. Also when we were there they had live Hawaiian music playing which was a nice bonus!

Wonderful atmosphere with a delicious menu of authentic prestige quality Hawaiian food. The cocktails were delicious and delivered in presentation. The wait team created a welcoming experience and ensured the table was comfortable. The live outdoor music paired alongside a magnificent sunset exceeded the expectations of my family.
