Sushi Bay

Always a wait to sit down. They did not increase their hours after COVID , so they close super early. The fishes are always what we expect. Today’s ahi was fresh. Rice was a little wonky, on the drier side. I like that they don’t smother everything in sauce and drizzles. Nice big pieces of chicken karaage not over fried. Staff is attentive and asks customers to recheck checks. Glad to see them thriving!

Sushi portions are very generous. A normal size sushi i can eat in one bite, but at Sushi Bay, it takes two to three bites. Seating is very limited, gets packed fast with signup waitlist outside. But well worth the wait. Enjoy the vibes.

Always a pleasure to come here. The pieces of fish is worth the wait times and money. Wish they would stay open a little later, but unstandable for a small business. Staff and customer service is always great.

This is one of the few places where the food is still 💣 even for takeout! I love coming here, especially for the Spicy Tuna & Udon combo — such a great deal! I also can’t get enough of the Chicken Karaage and Squid Karaage. These four dishes are my go-tos every time. I usually order takeout because there’s always a line to dine in (which says a lot about how good it is!). Definitely recommend this spot — you won’t be disappointed!

We love the portion sizes here. I wouldn't argue it to be the best sushi, but definitely a great place for lunch and dinner. They always have a line. Love their udon too.

I came here for the hamachi nigiri. I was told there was none. I asked the waitress to please double check and without hesitation she said "we're all out." It's fine if things are out of stock so I ordered other items. However, when people next to us who were seated well after us and ordered well after us got a plate of hamachi nigiri I had to ask our waitress what's up? She said she was mistaken and that they were out of the hamachi Kama (the cooked collar of the fish) and she asked if I wanted hamachi to-go but at that point we'd already ordered and received most of our other food. The waitress also said she'd check if there was miso soup. She never come back with a response. I had to ask the sushi chef about our unagi nigiri. He told us he accidentally gave it alway to the people next to us. When we got our last item the spicy tuna roll, it was mostly rice and there was more cucumber than there was fish (see pic). We also had to flag someone down for water. Service 101. This definitely wasn't worth the hour drive to get here from the windward side in traffic, and the 30 minute wait it took to get seated. This deserved 0% tip, but being in the service industry for many years I never tip less than 20%. I hope they realize I'm happy to tip 30%, 50%, or 100% for good service/ food quality/ atmosphere. Auwe.

I'd prefer this place for sushi any day👏🏽 they are very welcoming through service. Although the wait times are longer depending on the rushes- you won't be disappointed! Atmosphere could use some work, only because for us Polynesian people, especially are bigger than Asians so its an adjustment when you need to walk up and in the way of ppl who phone order + the workers. The walkways are really petite. Food is 10/10😋 super tasty & FRESH! thank you!

First time here and all I can say is “take my money”! The wait was longer than expected but I’m glad we waited it was well worth it. Ordering was very simple, food was fresh and full of flavor. Not too pricey and the amount of food for the price was good. Our picky eater decided he wanted to go again tomorrow! We’ll be back to try more of these delicious dishes.

For perspective we came around 420pm. It was our first visit here and they stop taking orders at 5pm. We were told that if we still wanted to get seated that we should order all of our food at once because they stop taking orders at 5pm. We could still sit and eat our food but they wouldn't be able to take any orders after 5pm so anticipate how much food we want and order everything at once. Our entire meal felt rushed. They have a very sweet older server there who has a very anxious energy as she's trying to move everyone along. After she sat us she took drink orders in a rush and forgot to bring out an extra miso soup and our sodas. Our server was very patient and helpful. Even though we sat down to eat pretty late into their service hours she tried to make sure we had enough time to look over the menu and answered all of our questions. She checked on us periodically and made sure we received all of our orders. We sat at the sushi counter and a couple of the chefs kept sighing in exhaustion at the sight of all of the people who came and ordered during the entire time we were there for our meal. Our food was delicious but honestly we didn't enjoy it. The place is clean. The rest of the servers continued to work through cleaning everything without rushing patrons. One of the takeout people yelled at the older lady I talked about earlier in frustration and refused her help with distributing takeout orders but she did it anyway--so there was tension there. I will have to do an update and come early for food and service as I don't feel that this was a fair experience even though it's the only one I've had.

Absolutely freaking delicious. First timers here. We were a group of 4, wait time was about 20 min with 3 others ahead of us in the sign in sheet. Omg the fish was incredible. I left so happy with the food. Go, you won't regret it. Favorite was the salmon, both raw and garlic~ I think total was about $120 for all 4 to walk out completely stuffed and happy. What a deal!
