Pho H&H Vietnamese & Japanese Restaurant
About
A Dual-Cuisine Haven in the Heart of Kapolei
Finding a spot that satisfies both a craving for steaming, anise-scented beef broth and fresh, clean-cut sushi can be a challenge on the West side of Oahu. Pho H&H bridges that gap, offering a straightforward menu that leans heavily into traditional Vietnamese comfort food while balancing it with Japanese staples. The dining room is unpretentious and brightly lit, making it a reliable go-to for a quick lunch break or a casual weeknight dinner after navigating the heavy traffic on Fort Barrette Road.
Savor the Broth
The star here is undoubtedly the Pho. Expect bowls arriving with a cloud of steam, the broth clear yet complex with hints of charred ginger and star anise. The basil is crisp, and the bean sprouts provide that essential crunch against the tender rice noodles. If you lean toward the Japanese side of the menu, the nigiri and signature rolls are prepared with a focus on fresh fish quality, often served with a generous hand of wasabi. It is the kind of place where the kitchen staff values consistency over bells and whistles.
The Local Experience
Situated within the bustling commercial landscape of Kapolei, the restaurant serves as a quiet refuge from the nearby big-box stores. You might find the parking area gets a bit tight during the peak lunch hour, so plan your arrival accordingly. The service is efficient and focused, catering to those who appreciate a no-nonsense dining experience. Whether you are looking to slurp through a hearty bowl of rare steak pho or piece together a custom sashimi platter, Pho H&H remains a practical anchor for the local Kapolei community seeking reliable, flavorful Asian fusion.

The pho was okay, but the broth didn’t have much flavor and the meat quality wasn’t great. It also felt a bit overpriced for what you get. The older lady sat and stared at us the whole time, which made the experience kind of uncomfortable. Probably won’t be returning. There are way better pho restaurants that are more reasonably priced.

This is a cute place to visit with delicious food! I love banh mi, and this was hands down the best I've had in a long time. I enjoyed everything. I came with my dad, my 3 little girls and my husband. They were very welcoming of our family, and had high chairs for the girls. We got them the wonton noodle soup and extra bowls were provided for them.

Ordered over the phone since delivery usually takes longer. When I arrived the lady was really friendly, assisting a family that was sitting, but while walking back and forth being able to get my number to check my order. Though someone came in and cut in line, but the lady was nice enough to say sorry about the cutting lady. The man got my order bagged up and ready right after I got there, so it's not like it was sitting in the bags for too long, which was nice since food gets soggy when it's sitting in the bags for too long. Service was great, food tastes great. We come here often enough for that pho fix. Can't comment on the prices since we basically only come here. Though I'm assuming its reasonable.
