Pacos Tacos Cantina Kapolei

It's been a few years but I use to always go to the Kapaa location on Tuesdays. I've just learned about this location and I love it. Staff here is very friendly. I love the food here. I've tried a few of their dishes on Kauai but the Baja Fish Tacos is my favorite but it needs the salsa that they bring you, it just brings it to another level. I've also tried their Enchilada Del Mar, it was okay. I wasn't really a fan of it. The beans, rice was bland and the enchilada was just to tough. The churros are really good. They're warm and fluffy with tons of cinnamon and surgar. And their nachos are my wife's favorite. Their prices are a bit steep, but overall, it's a decent place for some mexican food.

I recently visited Paco’s Tacos Cantina in Kapolei, located along Kapolei Parkway near the Ka Makana Aliʻi shopping district. As Kapolei continues to grow as Oʻahu’s west side hub for dining and entertainment, restaurants like Paco’s Tacos provide a lively option for those looking for a relaxed meal with a strong social atmosphere. The atmosphere feels energetic and welcoming, consistent with the cantina concept. The interior combines colorful décor, a busy bar area, and comfortable dining spaces that work well for both small groups and larger gatherings. The environment leans toward a festive setting, especially during evenings and weekends when the bar and dining room become more active. The menu focuses on familiar Mexican and Tex-Mex favorites. Tacos, burritos, enchiladas, and fajitas form the backbone of the offerings, with a range of proteins and toppings that make the dishes customizable. The flavors are bold and satisfying, and the portions are generous, which fits the casual cantina style of dining. The beverage program is also a key part of the experience. Margaritas and tequila-based cocktails feature prominently, and the bar area creates a natural gathering space for guests who are stopping in for drinks as well as food. Service during the visit felt friendly and attentive. Staff maintained a relaxed but efficient pace, which works well for a restaurant balancing both dining and bar service. From a global travel perspective, Paco’s Tacos Cantina reminded me of the casual cantina-style restaurants found throughout Southern California and parts of Mexico where vibrant décor, hearty food, and a social atmosphere come together to create an enjoyable dining experience.

All of the meals, meats, and salsas were delicious. This is definitely my new #1 place for authentic Mexican food on the island. Plus, all of the workers were so friendly and we enjoying sitting outdoors. Their patio area is well decorated, kept clean, and comfortable.

We had high hopes for this place but it was very disappointing. The staff was nice but the food was not great at all, it was clean inside. The queso had no flavor. The chicken street taco photo speaks for itself.. bland. Same with the fish tacos. They provide 2 sauces which help but one is too creamy and the other not spicy at all. We wanted to love this place but it was not it.

Wanted a small salad! No, the Taco Carnita Salad was awesomely huge! Thank you. Servers were super friendly and spot on with kind service. Menu selection had varieties of plate drinks and much more. Dining room was very clean and in order too. A full bar was clean too. Heard they have live music on a weekday too. Food (salad) was filling and tasty!😋 Order a jamica drink! ( it came in a cute mini size water pitcher-I likey). Drink was awesome tasty too! Thank you.

Absolutely the best guac I have eaten! Chunks of avo with the right amount of tomatoes finely diced. Had their burrito abd could only finish 1/3rd befor feeling overstuffed. They carry Mexican coke!

The stars are mainly for the friendly service and dealing with our big, demanding (due to hunger) family. This id one of the few places I would order Nopales. Most places make it dry and flavourless. The other food was okay, but we were spoiled due to frequent travel to Mexico and/or living in San Diego. Margaritas were okay.

First time eating here, originally I wanted ground beef tacos but I didn't see it on the menu so I ordered the al pastor tacos, pork was very tender, tasty. Portions are small for the price, no sides or chips and salsa included. I just ordered the two tacos, to try this place for the first time, not the combo plate. One thing I didn't like was no pricing on the menu so I didn't know how much the combo plate would cost. Two tacos were about $14.00. A little pricey. I will probably return to try another dish another day.

We love this place. Its our go to restaurant and were regulars. Surprised about the poor reviews for service because I find this restaurant to have the best service on the island! Food is also amazing and the staff are always happy and welcoming. The drinks are expensive but they are really well made. Happy to support a family owned spot!

Finally was able to get in and try Paco's, we had gone to the other location in town but it was closed for the move out west. But as it was described it was definitely good and worth the trip. The restaurant was clean and the service was friendly and timely. The salsa is fresh and just the right amount of spice. The food came out hot and fresh and was equally as good. The chicken for the tacos was grilled and chopped VS it being slow cooked and shredded but the flavors were there. The rice and chimichanga we're cooked well and had flavor. Over good experience and good food, give them a try if and when you're in Kapolei
