About
Morning Rituals in Kapolei
Walking into My Cafe feels like stepping into a neighbor’s kitchen, provided your neighbor happens to be an expert in hearty, island-style comfort food. This Kapolei staple serves as the unofficial community hub, where the sound of sizzling griddles competes with the low hum of local conversation. It is a no-frills, high-reward destination for those who prefer their mornings served with a side of genuine hospitality rather than pretension.
Signature Flavors
The kitchen is best known for its decadent pancake stacks and savory breakfast plates that easily fuel a full day of West Oahu adventures. Their take on loco moco moves away from the standard fare, focusing on rich, house-made gravies that coat perfectly seared patties. If you arrive during the weekend rush, expect a bit of a wait, as the limited seating fills up quickly with locals who know that the French toast—often featuring thick-cut, fluffy bread soaked just right—is worth the standing time.
The Local Pulse
Situated in the heart of the city, My Cafe manages to capture the laid-back essence of Kapolei. The lighting is bright and utilitarian, reflecting the honest approach they take to their menu. While parking in the surrounding shopping center can be a minor hurdle during the mid-morning peak, the ease of access from the main thoroughfares makes it a convenient stop before heading toward the Ko Olina lagoons or back toward Ewa Beach. It is the ideal spot for families or solo travelers looking to dodge the tourist traps and eat where the residents eat.

Nice menu and friendly service. Eggs benedict on sourdough was delicious! However, NO real butter in the restaurant. The staff told us they only have a margarine (seed oil) blend. So if you're trying to avoid seed oils, this place is not for you. Hopefully they add butter to the kitchen soon! Ambiance is pretty basic which is fine but there's a ton of dirt on the ceiling around the AC vents and some of that is on the walls. It's a little off-putting once we noticed.

Nice little cafe with tasty, healthy food (even sprouts on my sandwich!). Staff are friendly, and the atmosphere was calm when I went. Nice ambiance with music that’s not too quiet nor too loud, and a welcoming feel. I’m glad I tried this place!

It was just okay. The flight of pancakes looked amazing, but it tasted just OK. None of the toppings really had a standout flavor. The ube had no taste, except the pancake itself which was chocolate tasted of generic chocolate. The other 2 were a bit yummier, but had an undercooked taste, like raw dough. It seemed cooked throughout, despite that taste. We also ordered waffles, and that was much better tasting. Service was decent, the young lady serving us was kind enough to replace my coffee after a bug flew in it. Food came out pretty fast as well. Price is fair for Hawaii.

I finally stopped by The Café in Kapolei, and it was a breath of fresh air. It’s rare to find a spot where the hospitality is just as good as the menu. The food was delicious, and the pricing was incredibly fair—it’s the kind of reliable local spot you’re always hoping to find. If you’re looking for a great meal without the fluff, this is it.

Got that bowl! Yum yum! Katsu chicken with rice. It's also got that mushroom Gravy and a delicious egg. Their potatoes are very tasty as well. There were many chickens out by the parkinglot, but they seemed friendly. Bathrooms are shared by this facility and are upstairs. You don't need a code to enter.

I literally cannot say enough amazing things about this place! The service was amazing and the employees were so sweet and attentive! The atmosphere is very home-y with great decor. I loved the cute mugs they had! The food….I can’t even explain how great it was. This is easily the best breakfast I have ever had in my life. I got the Kama’aina omelet and it was absolutely delicious! My husband got “Da Breakfast Burger” and it was also super delicious! The pancakes were super fluffy! The coffee was also top tier! I will always highly recommend this cafe to anyone looking for recommendations!!!

If you’re in Kapolei and looking for a spot that delivers both great food and friendly service, My Cafe is a must-try. We stopped in and were impressed right from the start—our server was warm, attentive, and made us feel at home. Wait for 6 people was 10-15 mins. It’s a small restaurant, but worth the wait!!! The food definitely lived up to the hype. We ordered a spread that included their fried rice, crispy potatoes and garlic truffle potatoes (OMG), veggie omelette, kalua pork, eggs benedict, and of course their house coffee. Everything came out fresh, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. The loco moco was so amazing! The flight of pancakes which had 3 mini sets of flavors to include cookie butter, lilikoi and ube. I also ordered the cookie buttah waffle…yum oh! The fried rice was hearty and packed with flavor, the kalua pork was tender, and the eggs benedict had that perfect balance of richness without being too heavy. The veggie omelette was fresh and filling, while the potatoes were crisp on the outside and soft inside—just right. Pairing it all with their smooth house coffee made the meal complete. What really stood out was how everything tasted homemade yet polished, and the portions were generous without being overwhelming. You can tell this is a place that cares about quality and consistency. Overall, My Cafe hits the sweet spot between comfort food and a cafe-style vibe. Whether you’re a local or just visiting, it’s the kind of place you’ll want to come back to again and again.
