Moani Island Bistro & Bar
About
A Modern Gathering Spot in West Oahu
Located in the heart of Kapolei, Moani Island Bistro & Bar brings a high-energy, contemporary approach to traditional Hawaiian comfort food. As soon as you step inside, the open-air layout and buzzing acoustic sets define the space, making it a go-to for locals looking to unwind after a long day of navigating the H1 traffic.
Island-Inspired Culinary Craft
The menu highlights local ingredients with a modern twist, led by crowd favorites like their signature furikake-crusted catch and crispy pork belly. You will smell the faint char of the grill the moment you walk through the doors, a precursor to their robust take on island pupus. The kitchen manages a delicate balance between elevated presentation and the kind of hearty portions that define authentic island dining.
The Rhythm of the Room
The space is built for social interaction rather than quiet whispers. Live musicians frequently take the stage, filling the bistro with soulful melodies that occasionally require you to lean in a bit closer to your dining partner to be heard. While the seating is smartly designed to maximize the view of the stage, be prepared for a lively, sometimes boisterous atmosphere during the evening rush. It is a space that thrives on the energy of the crowd, perfect for those who want a side of entertainment with their craft cocktails. Whether you are craving a refreshing lilikoi-infused drink or a substantial plate lunch upgraded for the modern palate, this Kapolei hub offers a genuine slice of contemporary Hawaii.

The food was outstanding. We had 7 in our party and walked right in around 6 on a Friday. Our server gave us several recommendations and we took them all. Bursting with flavor. HIGHLY recommend. There was live music as well but I was too focused on the food.

For what I expected being a strictly live band bar I was surprised in ways and disappointed in others. I didn't try food this time and need to eventually It's super nice and definitely has an upscale feel compared to say og pipeline cafe and mai tais which I did appreciate given the fact that my friend and I missed them having malino and nuff said. As for drinks value... This is where I remain conflicted. While the prices are nice enough being lower in places like beer than most mainstream bars it doesn't have the variety (drafts especially) and kinda relies on the light and lighter options like Michelob Ultra to carry the prices as they're super close to each other. I didn't like how while local beers are available they are near double the price of the regular priced bottled beer. I wish specials at other places I went to were available to support local craft beer. Because of this and a long ride home we didn't get into cocktails but they did look nice at moments despite being again small on the menu. The pints/pitcher on draft though to me is the biggest detractor as the scaling of price to us wasn't there and there's only modelo and something else we forgot. On the bright side our servers were super on it with drinks and let us cruise also which I liked as well. Aunties definitely took care of us despite the noise so props to them. Overall it could go either ways. Nice food place with good service and small kine low booze appeal or perfect combo for a good pau Hana we will have to see.

This place was recommended by an Aulani staff member as I was looking for local restaurants for dinner. The hours are good if your catching late lunch, early dinner. They have a wide menu variety with really generous size portions enough to share with at least 3 to 4 people. Great live entertainment music and bar if your coming in for happy hour or just a meet up with friends to watch so tv. It's dress casual but you can come in dressy, casual just not inappropriate and you'll fit right at home. The taste of the menu was definitely local for me and unique to what I'm use to back in the mainland. I had my family, party of 12 and this place definitely did not disappoint. The staff was great, the food came out pretty quick compared to most place we've been for a large group. They were attentive to our needs and did their best to make us feel at home. The location was in a great spot whether you shopped before or after your meal, it was close to Baskin-Robins for that additional dessert or right across from 24 hr fitness if you wanted to workout your meal. Definitely would recommend this place for people who are staying at the Aulani Resort or neighboring Resorts. Gotta try this place at least one time during your stay, worth the drive and better choice then walking across the street to the other restaurants.

The food is seriously amazing and the service and vibe matches the food. It’s family style so the intent is to share. The smoked meat in the Mac & cheese adds a subtle sweetness to it that balances it out. We got our ribeye medium and it was so tender and flavorful. Didn’t get a picture of the spicy ahi nachos because we inhaled them but that was easily our favorite dish of the night. To top it off the cheesecake was the perfect way to end the meal. We had enough our main meal leftover to take home because everything was so filling and the portions were generous.

Came in for happy hour, and was pleasantly surprised at the prices for most of their apps and beers. Server was great, he deserves all the praise! Food was amazing, presentation was great, portion sizes were very very generous. Honestly might come back during this trip because it was such a great experience.

From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere at Moani Island Bistro & Bar was warm, vibrant, and full of aloha spirit. The live music set the perfect tone for the evening, and the food was absolutely phenomenal—fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. What truly made our visit exceptional was our bartender, Anna. She was not only incredibly knowledgeable about the drink menu but also crafted each cocktail with precision and care. Her friendly personality, attention to detail, and genuine hospitality made us feel like valued guests. Anna went above and beyond to ensure we had a memorable experience, and we can’t thank her enough! If you're in Kapolei and looking for a place with great vibes, delicious food, and outstanding service, Moani Island Bistro & Bar is a must-visit. We’ll definitely be back!

If you're looking for a lively dining experience with some great live music, Moani Island Bistro in Kapolei is the place to be! We arrived to find a bustling atmosphere with a party vibe, which made our 15-minute wait feel like part of the excitement. We ordered the steak with chimichurri, and while I usually prefer my steak medium rare, this one came out a bit more cooked than I anticipated. I think the sizzling plate contributed to that, as it continued to cook the steak after it was served. However, the flavors were still delicious, and the chimichurri added a nice fresh kick. I also ordered the bao bao, which I absolutely loved! It was a delightful treat that complemented our meal perfectly. The loco moco was decent, but it didn't quite stand out compared to the other dishes we tried. Overall, Moani Island Bistro offers a vibrant atmosphere and good food, making it a fun spot to enjoy dinner while soaking in some live music. I'd definitely recommend checking it out if you're in the area!

Food was amazing! We loved the edamame so much that we got another order. Spicy garlic shrimp was delicious along asparagus. Can’t wait to be back next time we’re on the island.

Aloha! This is a very impressive little restaurant. The food is phenomenally good. I've been here several times and have had nearly a third of their menu items, a few more than once. The staff is exceptionally friendly, outgoing, accommodating and efficient. There's live entertainment nightly playing the kind of music you'd expect to hear on Oahu. If you're staying at the Hampton Inn, just 150 ft door to door, consider yourself lucky. I'd like to personally thank Anna and Kolton for making my visits fun, enjoyable, putting a smile on my face and taking care of every need. Mahalo, A hui hou. -Steve

Went here for the first time on a date and it was a whole Vibe as soon as you walk in. The food is great portion. Its is on the pricey side though. The menu was small but the food was great. The mac with smoked meat was good but could use more seasoning. The drink are also great and you can turn shots into cocktails for $2 more. I really wish I remembered my waiters name because he was for fast and nice and gave suggestions. If you get the calamari ask to have it with garlic aioli. It's great 👍🏼 👌
