Fairway Views and Local Comforts

Perched overlooking the manicured greens of West Oahu, the Kapolei Golf Club Restaurant offers a tranquil escape from the typical island bustle. The dining room features floor-to-ceiling windows that capture the soft morning light reflecting off the water hazards, providing a peaceful backdrop for a casual lunch or a post-round pupu session. It is the kind of spot where the ambient sound of distant golf carts and the rustle of palms replaces the high-intensity noise of downtown Honolulu.

A Taste of Hawaii’s Culinary Roots

The menu leans heavily into local comfort food, prioritizing hearty portions that cater to both hungry golfers and neighborhood residents looking for a reliable meal. Signature offerings often feature classic Hawaiian-style plate lunches, including expertly prepared katsu and fresh local catches. You will notice the kitchen focuses on traditional island flavors rather than overly fussy plating, making it a straightforward choice for families or business partners who value substance over spectacle.

Practical Dining Tips

Because the restaurant serves the clubhouse, it maintains a relaxed, open-air feeling that stays cool even on warm afternoons. One minor quirk to keep in mind is that the restaurant's operational rhythm often shifts to accommodate tournament schedules, so it is wise to check their current hours before making the drive through the Kapolei plains. While the parking lot is expansive, it can get busy during peak morning tee-off times, so arriving a few minutes early ensures a smoother start to your visit. Whether you are finishing a challenging round or just exploring the vibrant growth of the Kapolei region, this dining room remains a classic, no-nonsense venue for a satisfying meal with a view.

We got there with a reservation and it’s still took them about 20 minutes to seat us. And there were a TON of open tables. Then it took FOREVER to get our food. They served it all at different times too so the polite person in our group ate cold food by the time they brought the rest of our food. The waiter was talking too much story at us, trying to make us feel sympathetic to the slow wait times but I found it annoying. Then after all that the food wasn’t good and I feel sick after. Also there was no compensation to my bill. Would not recommend and I will never be going back. All in all we were there for 2.5 hrs in total. Also the breakfast menu was limited and disappointing. Oh and I almost forgot we were sitting by the window with a decent view but they closed the blinds knocking our table and blocking said view. And no there was no sun coming in or any obvious reason why they would close the blinds 👎🏻👎🏻

They are making a comeback. Used to go here a lot back in the days after church up the street. But it slowly was declining for some reason. Went back for mother's Day brunch and it was excellent.. only disappointment was the prime rib. It looked wonderful, but lacked the seasoning you'd expect from a big hunk of meat. I thought that aujus would make up for it, but even that was lacking. It could have been a bad piece, but just added salt to taste I guess. But everything else was awesome. The staff was awesome. Had live performer. Even being packed, lines moved fairly well and food was restocked quickly so there was no wait. Would definitely be going back other than special occasions.

Incredibly disappointed in brunch today. Ordered the creme anglaise French toast with a side of scrambled eggs. The French toast came out with no creme at all and completely soggy and undercooked. In contrast, the scrambled eggs were severely overcooked and brown. I didn’t get my coffee that I ordered as we sat down until after breakfast and the plate had hair on it. My husband ordered an omelet and hash browns. Both were very oily and the omelet had the wrong ingredients. The hash browns were overcooked also, hard as a rock. Service was atrocious. The waitress gave 200% of her attention to a large group of golfers that arrived 15 minutes after we were seated and noted a quickly approaching tee time and requested fast service. She obliged and it came at the cost of everyone else’s table being ignored. She made no attempt to apologize when she realized I hadn’t touched my breakfast. Just an “ok, want anything else?” No- what I want is for you to get things right the first time. She did remove my food from the bill which was anticipated considering I ate exactly 1 bite. The only saving grace were the views of the golf course. The atmosphere was very loud, picking up noise from every other patron’s conversations even though there were only 5 tables. This isn’t necessarily a negative unless you are coming with hopes of a quiet meal.

Everything from the food to the service is amazing. You can’t go wrong with the price and portion size either.

Our golf club plays Kapolei when scheduling permits … They don’t allow club play before 10:30am so there is ample time to have breakfast and warm up. I ordered the French Toast … there was a fancy name for it but I didn’t take a pic of the menu. I added a side order of bacon and coffee. The French Toast was a visual and taste delight and the bacon was cooked properly … crispy! There are a number of other breakfast options; three types of Benedicts; design your own omelet and a few other options. Unfortunately, this was going to be a breakfast and lunch review but the restaurant closed at 1pm for a private event so we were left out in the proverbial cold. Haha, it was a scorcher that day. Anyway, this rating is just for breakfast … the prices are on the higher end but I was totally satisfied with my breakfast. A conditional recommendation … we have to try lunch before providing an unequivocal endorsement.

Wonderful Atmosphere Mediocre Food. Sizzling Mushrooms were great, Calamari good but serving size ridiculously small for $10. Fried rice was tasty, but served at room temperature. Loco Moco burger thick and nicely browned, but brown gravy was tasteless. Hamburger Steak with mushrooms had the same tasteless gravy and hardly any mushrooms. Go for the atmosphere, not the food.
