Kapolei Chinese Restaurant

To be honest me and my family will never eat from or support this Chinese restaurant ever again I had a horrible experience on 5/16/2026 what happened was we came into the restaurant we sat down. We ordered our food a lot of food at that first thing I noticed was they brought us our drinks and it was the cups weren’t clean enough you could see stains on top you know from not being scrubbed good I’ll let that slide. They bring us our food. I had the dinner plate I just took a bite out of my food and then I noticed on the rice. There were hair on inside my food all over the rice and other spots on my food like the noodles and what not so I told the waitress that was right next to me there’s hair in my food. Her response was very unpleasant told me to just scrape the rice out of my plate onto another plate and I should be fine from there. I was so upset that I wanted to take their dishes and throw it on the ground, but I managed to keep my composure. You know I try to keep calm. I didn’t want to ruin the night you know it was a dinner night with me and my wife and My Daughter so I scooped the rice out of my plate. I took a bite or two from the noodles area on a plate and then I noticed there was more freaking hair. I instantly stop eating from my food instead I started feeding My Daughter her food from her own plate and at the same time, checking her plate to make sure there was no hair inside. Very horrible experience. I just don’t understand how you can tell somebody to scoop your the rice out of your plate it’ll be fine when there is a worker’s hair in your food. Multiple hairs was found. This is the first encounter we had had with them. They were another encounter about a year ago where the whole restaurant was empty had me and my wife and My Daughter sitting and eating and another family comes in. You know, much bigger family, a lot of empty tables, but instead they chose to sit them directly behind us where we had to scoop our chairs more in just so they could fit. If u ask me this Chinese restaurant is going down the drain. There’s no hospitality. There’s no aloha in this place at all, I feel like potentially the the health department needs to come and take a look at this restaurant because if I found multiple hairs in my food and they did nothing about it, but tell me to scoop out the rice in my plate and still charge me mind you for my plate then something is not right here it really makes u question what other health risk are going on in this restaurant.. I’ve been to many other Chinese restaurants and never had this issue where if something is wrong with my food they will remake it not a problem I’m really considering contacting the health department because that was a very unpleasant experience we also spent over $100$ on our meals with them we won’t ever come back and support this Chinese restaurant how can we trust this moving forward? We just can’t. We can’t take that risk, especially not after the response and the way they acted after seeing their hair themselves. And if I’m being honest I woke up today not feeling too good I wish I would’ve just told the wife leave the food on the table and let’s go to another restaurant somewhere safer to eat never ever will be coming back to this place.

We have occasioned Kapolei Chinese over the years, but have noticed a marked decline in the overall quality of the food. Their Crisy Gau Gee is something we've always ordered and enjoyed, but the last 2 times we ordered it, it was over cooked to the point where we couldn't even eat it.. Kind of like chewing a torched slippa dipped in really old frying oil. - Unfortunately, we won't be going back any time soon.

It's not exactly brand spanking new or even particularly well cleaned in the dining room, but the food quality is outstanding and the staff are fairly friendly. Try the Sizzling Pepper Beef and their Yang Cho fried rice is amazing.
