808 Craft House
About
A Neighborhood Hub for West Oahu
Tucked away in the heart of Kapolei, 808 Craft House serves as a dedicated sanctuary for those who appreciate a well-curated tap list. The atmosphere skips the pretension of high-end lounges, opting instead for a gritty, authentic neighborhood pub feel where the clinking of pint glasses and the hum of local conversation dominate the air.
The Brews and Bites
The core of the experience lies in their impressive rotation of local craft beers. With a heavy focus on Hawaiian breweries, you’ll often find rare kegs from Maui Brewing Co. and other regional producers that rarely make it to mainland distribution. Pair your flight with their signature Furikake fries or the Kalua pork sliders, which bring a distinct island flair to standard bar snacks. The scent of savory garlic and roasting pork hits you the moment you walk through the door, signaling a kitchen that knows exactly what pairs best with a cold IPA.
The Local Experience
This is the spot for the after-work crowd and weekend warriors looking to escape the busier tourist zones. While the interior can get a bit loud on game nights—the acoustics bounce off the industrial-style ceiling—it only adds to the high-energy, community-centric vibe. If you are planning a visit, keep in mind that the parking lot gets crowded quickly as the sun sets. It is a true local staple where the staff remembers your name and your go-to pour, making it an essential stop for any craft beer enthusiast navigating the Leeward Coast.

I came back for the burger and its not the same. It was not a smash burger the quality was poor. The manager said they got a new cook? Third photo is the yuk burger. I'm going to Roy's for the same money but quality burger. No sure way but there are no servers. There's a host at the entrance that says sit anywhere except for the table the staff uses. And when your ready to order you can go to the bar and tell the bartender what you want to eat and drink. This beer crafthouse has no beer menu. You have to ask the bartender what they have on tap.

The food is not good at all. Ordered a bacon burger and the patty looked wet and raw. Looked like patty had been boiled instead of grilled. Ordered the Hawaiian shrimp and the fried rice it came with is not good at all and soft. I will never be back here for food! However the live music and the server were very good.

Food allergy folks - be very careful! They have a separate GF menu which appears Celiac-safe. I flagged Celiacs on the reservation, at the hostess stand, and for our waitress upon being seated. Then I ordered the steak that come with rice from the GF menu instead of the steak frites off the regular menu. The food still came out with fries and the waitress and even the manager seemed confused why this wasn’t acceptable. If you have any allergy, definitely stay on top of things if you choose to dine here. Even regardless of food allergies, the hostess wasn’t friendly and our waitress was lackluster at best. I only had reason to meet the manager because of the allergy issue, but he was equally unimpressive. The rest of our group’s food was fine - nothing special but not terrible. I’d recommend just going to Monkeypod’s across the street for a great meal and atmosphere.

808 Craft House allows you to make reservations in advance. They’re one of the few restaurants in the area that will. This is a great place to go and eat. Be forewarned, the local moco is two patties so it’s really big and could feed two people. Our group recommends you get a burger instead of the pizza. If you need to use the restroom, you’ll have to go outside of the hotel and use the one that has a code that you’ll need to get from the restaurant. Note to management, get bigger glasses. Our server only refilled them twice, so I was thirsty most of the night.

We found this place on our last night in Kapolei. They had a live singer which we all loved. My daughter and I both have celiac - they have a separate gluten free menu. I was able to get the fresh fish sandwich on a gluten free bun with the awesome super food slaw. It was delicious! We all enjoyed our food & the atmosphere. My husband & I actually preferred this place over Monkeypod (which had too much hype with good, but not great, food). Coconut creme brulee was delightful dessert.

The 808 Craft House has a good variety of drinks and a kid-friendly menu with live music when we were there. We We waited almost an hour for a table after being told it would be less than a 30min wait. The food is fine, but it’s "typical bar food" at a much higher price than it should be. Not a great value for the time or money spent.

We went to celebrate my birthday on a Tuesday night, last minute decision as it was close to home. Had read some mixed reviews but extremely glad we decided to go for it anyway! Service was excellent, we never wanted for anything, she was on point! Food came out quickly (it was not extremely busy). When we arrived there was live music and we thoroughly enjoyed our time! Food was fantastic, I had the pork chop (extremely flavorful and great sides!) My husband had the coconut shrimp and they were amazing! And my mother had the steak frites which was excellent as well! Lychee iced tea and the Ko 'Olina drink were amazing! The coconut creme brulèe was good as well. Highly recommend and we will be return to try more!

We visited 808 Craft House in Ko Olina, Hawaii on February 13. Our server, Michele, provided very poor service. Our party included four people, yet gratuity for six was added because we were seated next to another group of four. The restaurant treated the two tables as one party of eight. Since parties of six or more are automatically charged a 20% tip, it felt like service quality did not matter. Michele brought more sodas than we ordered and charged us for them. As a whole the two groups ordered four sodas, two beers, and two waters. When we questioned the extra drinks on the bills, Michele argued instead of correcting the bill professionally. She’s the one that took the order. The food 808 Smashburger was asked to be cooked well, when it arrived it was overcooked and disappointing. Had no seasoning and bland taste. A 3% kitchen fee was also added for a “job well done,” according to the menu. Based on the quality of our meals, that description did not match our experience. There was also a singer performing who appeared to be doing karaoke. The performance was awful. The only positive part of our visit was being seated quickly. Overall, this was a one-star experience, and we would not return. And I would encourage you not to eat there.

Great open air dining and a nice bar. Service was really good. The sun was low and shining in my face and without us asking they offered to move us. We did. The disappointment was the food. I got the Huli Huli Chicken and it was dry and bland. Not horrible but disappointing. My wife got the Super Food salad and it was good, but not great. We might give them another try but I would avoid the half chicken.

Swung by here by chance! We had two other places that we were considering! Then we said let’s give it a try! Glad we did. The atmosphere is nice, it’s an open air place, but still comfortable. They offer a large selection of alcoholic beverages and Coke products to drink. Server is friendly had a good attitude was on top of the game. Which added to a positive experience. The food was delicious and the size of the portions were perfect if not a little too much. We didn’t leave wanting more. We had coconut shrimp platter, braised short rib salad and the braised short rib loco moco.! All were delicious no complaints from anyone there! It’s just a short walk from the resort ! However unless you’re looking for it, it maybe easy to pass by. This place is tucked in the corner and behind another restaurant. We highly recommend this place for a good meal and great service!
