Waikiki Tea
About
A Tropical Escape for Tea Enthusiasts
Stepping into Waikiki Tea feels like finding a quiet oasis amidst the high-energy pulse of Honolulu. The shop specializes in handcrafted bubble tea and refreshing fruit-based beverages that hit the spot after a humid afternoon wandering through the Waikiki district. Instead of the typical neon-lit boba chain aesthetic, this spot leans into a minimalist, clean design that keeps the focus entirely on the ingredients.
Signature Sips and Fresh Flavors
The menu prioritizes quality over quantity, featuring premium tea leaves that provide a distinct aromatic punch rather than just a sugary base. Regulars often gravitate toward their classic milk teas, which achieve a delicate balance between creamy texture and robust tea notes. If you prefer something lighter, their fruit-infused options—often highlighting locally sourced flavors—offer a cooling, tart profile perfect for the island climate.
The Local Experience
Expect a compact, efficient space that serves as a perfect pit stop rather than a place to linger for hours. Because it is positioned right in the heart of Honolulu’s busiest tourism hub, foot traffic can pick up quickly, turning the small ordering area into a bustling hive of activity. You might find yourself elbow-to-elbow with locals and visitors alike while waiting for your drink, but the staff moves with impressive speed. Whether you are looking for a mid-day caffeine boost or a sweet treat to carry along the shore, this tea house delivers a reliable, high-quality drink without the unnecessary fluff found at more commercialized competitors.

Tea lovers, like me, will find the perfect tea for their palate right here at Waikiki Tea. I absolutely love Oolong teas of all sorts, and Kevin carries four options. Today, I am drinking the Milky Oolong as I sit outside the store and watch the people go by. So relaxing on this beautiful Honolulu day. There are also delicious treats, too many to name, to have with a cup of tea. I must mention my other favorite he carries here. It is the Royce' Chocolate brand. This is like no other. There are several varities to choose from, but if you like dark chocolate, then it is a must! I will be stocking up before I fly home. I always have to stop here when I am in town to get my tea fix. What is life without a great cup of tea? #waikikitea #ladym.waikikitea #tealicous

Came here to buy Royce chocolates from Japan. Nice and quaint spot near an outrigger Waikīkī hotel. Service was stellar and good advice on transporting the chocolates on the plane.

Today we tried these amazing cakes! I hoped that it will be delicious, but it was much better than I was expecting 🤤🤤🤤 Passion fruit was good, but pistachio cake was mouthwatering! Omg! It’s so gentle and so rich at the same time! Love it! Highly recommended to try and I think I’ll come back to try chocolate and matcha.

First time trying this delicious cake. The flavors aren’t too sweet and light, the dark chocolate and vanilla was exceptional.

Dedicated parking made my decision to visit. Those who are willing to splurge on price will enjoy a delicious treat. Liliko'i lovers can appreciate the balance of light cream and crepe layers topped with bright fruit flavor.

Feeling fancy? You will definitely feel fancy after you have some of these Lady M cakes! I love the layer by layer on these decadent desserts. Whenever in Waikiki, stopping here is a MUST! We’ve had their signature cake and their strawberry shortcake and both were divine! Parking is easy right next to the shop. So there’s no excuse, head to Waikiki Tea for this treat!!!

The place is cozy and the pastries we ordered were delicious! So happy we can finally get Royce chocolate products locally. The old lady waitress was so sweet and the gentleman behind the counter was very courteous. Not sure but they may have been the owners of the place. Only giving them 4-Stars because of the mandatory 15% tip if you’re dining in. Would have been happy to give a 20% tip but making it mandatory makes me feel uncomfortable.

We were looking for something sweet and happened on this place. I’d never heard of the place or the crepe cakes before so we gave it a try. WOW! The Signature Mille Crepe was awesome. It was light and not too sweet. The texture was very different but very delicate and satisfying. I can’t wait to try the Green Tea crepe. Definitely will return.
