About
Sizzling K-BBQ in the Heart of Waikiki
Finding authentic Korean flavors steps away from the shoreline of Honolulu is a rarity, yet Waikiki Gangnam Style Inc delivers exactly that. The air inside is thick with the savory, charcoal-scented smoke of tabletop grills, punctuated by the sharp, acidic aroma of fresh kimchi and the rhythmic clatter of metal chopsticks against stone bowls. It is the kind of place where conversations get loud to compete with the sizzle of thinly sliced brisket hitting the hot metal.
Flavor Profiles and Local Favorites
This spot is built for groups who don’t mind getting a little rowdy. The menu centers on traditional Korean barbecue staples, with the marinated short rib (galbi) acting as the undisputed heavyweight champion of their lineup. The meat arrives with a perfect caramelization from the marinade, balancing sweetness with the deep, umami punch of soy sauce and garlic. Beyond the grill, the spicy tofu stew offers a bubbling, volcanic red broth that cuts right through the richness of the beef. Expect generous side dishes—the banchan spreads arrive quickly, turning every square inch of the table into a mosaic of pickled radish, seasoned bean sprouts, and seaweed.
A Practical Take on Waikiki Dining
While the food hits the mark, arrive prepared for a cozy, high-energy environment. The floor plan is compact, meaning you will likely be bumping elbows with neighbors as you reach for the gochujang. It isn't a place for an intimate, whispered conversation, but it is perfect for those wrapping up a day at the beach who want a hearty meal that doesn’t lean into tourist-trap tropes. Parking in this part of town is a notorious headache, so leave the car at your hotel and walk over—you will appreciate the stroll after a meal this heavy.

Went here on a Saturday night to find it dead - but I don't know why because the food was great! Staff was very excited to have us there and gave us a bunch of extra items that all tasted good. I got the short ribs which were tender and falling off the bone. Shared a kimchi pancake which was amazing as well and not spicy at all (good for me). I would recommend this place and I hope to come back to try their breakfast!

Good food and reasonably priced (for locale). Had the hot pot bibimbap bowl. Came with the all the accessories - kimchi, cucumber salad, radish, Mac’ salad, and fries. Fast service. They were out of draft beers and our first two bottles choices. Not well air conditioned, but this is Hawaii…

We had a wonderful meal with friends at Waikiki Gangnam Style American restaurant. The food was great the service was provided with a smile and a warm feeling that made us feel more like family than a customer. If you're looking for a great Korean based meal you cannot go wrong getting your meal on here.
