Waffle and Berry
About
A Tropical Morning Ritual in Waikiki
Stepping into Waffle and Berry feels like catching a quiet break from the relentless energy of Waikiki. The space is bright and airy, serving as a perfect landing spot for those who want to skip the heavy, grease-laden hotel breakfast in favor of something lighter and more vibrant. You will hear the gentle whir of blenders mixing acai and the steady chatter of locals grabbing a quick bite before heading toward the coastline.
Crafting the Island-Inspired Waffle
The menu centers on Belgian-style waffles that strike a difficult balance: a crisp, golden exterior giving way to a light, fluffy center. While the menu leans into the health-conscious side of Honolulu dining, the toppings are the real draw. They lean heavily into local flavors, piling house-made acai bowls and fresh, seasonal Hawaiian fruit onto warm waffles. It is a refreshing departure from standard syrup-drenched pancakes.
The Details That Define the Visit
The presentation is intentionally colorful, making it a favorite for those aiming to capture the aesthetic of an island vacation. If there is one minor hurdle to note, it is the limited seating—this is a spot designed for high turnover. During the mid-morning rush, you might find yourself balancing your plate on a small counter space, but the speed of the service keeps the line moving efficiently. Whether you are a solo traveler needing a quick caffeine fix or a small group looking for a wholesome start to a day of surfing, the simple, focused menu here hits the mark.

If you’re in Waikiki, Waffle and Berry is a must! The açaí bowl and fresh fruit were incredibly fresh, and the waffles were so soft and delicious. On top of the amazing food, the hospitality was truly 10/10. Highly recommend stopping by when in Waikiki!

Great place, great service, and great food! 🍳☕️ My eggs and sausage were cooked perfectly, and I especially loved the sausage — full of flavor and done just right. The coffee was wonderful too. Everything we had was really enjoyable, and the service made the experience even better. My husband actually surprised me and ordered a waffle with peanut butter and banana instead of his usual biscuits and gravy. 🎉😂 He normally avoids sweets and sticks to the same thing every time, so this was basically a historic event. Hallelujah! He ended up loving it. 🍌🧇🥜 You were right! 😊

Berry Fact: A true berry comes from one flower with one ovary. When meeting up with a colleague, she told me firmly, that while acai bowls originated in Brazil, they are a massive staple in Hawaii's food culture and considered a must-try, iconic snack there. Hawaii popularized the version widely found in the USA, adding local toppings like papaya, lilikoi, and macadamia nuts to the frozen blended berry base. And she recommended the best place. They frequently top the "Yelp's Best..." lists! I got to meet the gentleman behind the business, Cal. He's sweet, humble, and has a great personality. As for the waffle and acai bowl: It was spoonful after spoonful of tasty eats. At one point, I started topping my waffle with my acai bowl. It's that brunch combination that pairs warm, crispy waffles with cold, thick, and refreshing acai smoothie toppings that makes it oh so alluring. The combination offers a contrast in textures and temperatures and textures (fruit, granola, nuts, and drizzled honey) that makes it moreish. Just typing about it now makes my mouth become a waterfall. Pop in if you're in the Waikiki area! If you're not in the area, it's still well worth a visit if you're in need of some healthy eats and carbs.

If you are ever in Waikiki you MUST make a stop here for breakfast, açaí bowls, and even the most delicious gumbo ever created. Yes. Gumbo. An unsuspecting treasure underground amid all the bougie shopping that will blow you away. The vibe, the owner, the FOOD! So fresh and refreshing after a hot walk on the strip. Treat yourself by visiting this amazing place. You will not regret it!

Today my family of seven went to Waffle and Berry for the first time. All of the staff were so nice and helpful. After we ordered the owner came to check on us. He was so kind and wanted to make sure that we were taking care of. He even gave us a few bonus items. The food was five star and the service was even better.

Such a fun and delicious stop in Waikiki! We tried the Peanut Butter waffle and the Berries & Cream, and both were absolutely amazing. The waffles were perfectly crisp on the outside, soft on the inside, and generously topped. The Peanut Butter waffle was rich and satisfying without being too heavy, and the Berries & Cream was fresh, light, and beautifully balanced with whipped cream and fruit. What really stood out for us as a family was how kid-friendly this place is. They even offer a special plate for the littles, which made it so easy for our child to enjoy a fun, perfectly portioned treat of fruit, waffle bites, and ice cream. Huge win for parents! The vibe is casual and welcoming, the presentation is beautiful, and it’s the perfect spot for a sweet breakfast, brunch, or dessert while exploring Waikiki. We’ll definitely be back on our next visit 🍓🧇✨

Waffle and Berry is a cozy dessert spot that feels genuinely welcoming, with treats that are as satisfying as they are well made. The acai bowl is fresh and well balanced, with a nice mix of fruit and texture that doesn’t feel overly sweet. What stood out most was the thoughtful hospitality—the complimentary iced Americano was an unexpected and much-appreciated touch that elevated the overall experience. It’s a place where good food and warm service come together naturally.
