Vintage 1901
About
A Step Back into Waikiki’s Heritage
Located within the historic Moana Surfrider, Vintage 1901 serves as a bridge between the elegance of old-world Hawaii and the modern energy of Honolulu’s waterfront. Stepping onto the veranda, the first thing you notice is the rhythmic sound of the Pacific tide mingling with the distant clinking of cocktail shakers. The architecture, dating back to the early 20th century, frames an open-air space where the breeze carries the faint, salty scent of the ocean.
Sip and Savor by the Banyan Tree
This spot is ideal for those who prefer their evening sunset with a side of historical gravitas. The menu leans heavily into sophisticated wine pairings and artisanal small plates, designed for slow consumption while watching the sky turn violet over the Waikiki coastline. Guests often find themselves lingering under the massive, hundred-year-old banyan tree that anchors the courtyard—a living landmark that seems to hold its own against the rush of the surrounding district.
While the atmosphere is undeniably refined, visitors should be prepared for the bustling nature of the hotel lobby nearby; it is a popular thoroughfare, so expect a lively, sometimes energetic hum rather than absolute silence. Whether you are coming off a day on the sand or preparing for a night out in central Honolulu, the experience here focuses on the ritual of the drink. It’s less about a rushed meal and more about capturing a moment of poise in a city that rarely sits still.

Supposed to have live piano music from Wednesday to Sunday. Was there on a Wednesday. The guy who plays piano uses mainly electronic music and he barley sings or plays by himself. Also there is no ambiance at all.

Poor service considering there were only three other tables that have customers. One customer only ordered a cocktail. I could have eaten a full dinner and dessert with wine, but the service was slow, impersonal, and unapproachable. When I sat down, I was not offered a glass of water by default and had to ask for it, then rushed me to order while on her way to clear a bunch of dishes that she was carrying. I asked her to take the dishes away first, then come back to take my order. It was 6:45 pm, and the pianist was not there as well. Inquiry about this, the server said "I don't know".

First time here recommended by some couple we met and they were absolutely right. Everything from the appetizers to the amazing filet it was perfect. Our server Travis was taking care of about 6 tables including a large party of 10 and he did not disappoint. We enjoyed the music and dancing in this perfect restaurant that had view of the strip. This is a must visit!!

It faces Kalakauni Avenue and leads to the hotel's beach. The evening breeze is pleasant and the live piano music is soothing. The food is brought out from the hotel's grand kitchen to complement the wine, and the seafood is especially delicious. The service staff are also cheerful and pleasant.
