A street side taco cart next to Whole Paycheck.... The people that we encountered working were fabulous. They were getting ready to close. I had no issues making our food and telling us we could stay there and eat. If we wanted to there are going to be a while until it got everything closed up. Super great food, super friendly staff. I highly recommend the the street side, burrito and quesadilla

Thyda's Tacos... Where to start. This place serves more than just food. They serve soul, flavor, hospitality, and culture. The owner's, Thyda and Magid do a tremendous job creating such a beautiful atmosphere. Over the years I've been coming here, they have always been kind and attentive. Come here for the hands down best burrito money can buy on this island. Perhaps even the best on the planet... But make sure you stay a customer for the vibes. And a big shout out to the staff they hire! Always friendly! My go to order: Barbacoa burrito, with guac and extra chocolate (seasonal) habanero sauce inside --- Enjoy!!!

I was really excited to try this spot and ended disappointed. Ive been told for the past few years that it's delicious but the parking situation always had me changing my mind when I found myself around that area. It's a tiny trailer in front of an old auto shop. Seemed like one of those secret spots the locals hit up. I saw the plates in the reviews, they looked good but ours looked nothing like them. The service was pretty poor as the man seemed like he was irritated by people not knowing how to park or asking about the menu after he waved them forward before they could look at the menu. I watched him treat people differently while we waited. The prep cooks were helpful but ones armpits were all out, I don't know if that's wrong or not but it felt weird to me. The tacos were mid at best, dry and my meat looked different than my husbands. Both pollo. The beef cheek was overly greasy. I didn't even finish the rice and beans and that's the part I looked forward to the most. The good parts, the women seemed helpful when asked questions and the price is affordable.

What an amazing gem to find on a business trip. Carnitas burrito was slightly toasted and great balance between the crunchy & creaminess. Get it with the avocado. Be prepared to wait but they are hustling orders out as fast as they are placed.

Hands down five stars their chips and dip and salsa was amazing. I got the Asada burrito which was $14. It was well worth it. I also tried the beef tongue, Tacos.Called lengua , you can make as many salsa dips as you want . We got there around 1220 and waited about 45 minutes and it was lunch time. Better to do a phone order ahead of time as it gets super busy. Literally located right behind Whole Foods in Kakaako area. Definitely a hidden gem 💎 I hope they can get a brick and mortar spot soon 🔜 💫🏆

I used to love this place and came regularly. I try not to leave a bad review anywhere. I waited over 25 minutes for these tacos, and They were pitiful to say the least. I’d rather them charge me an extra .50 - 1$ to account for inflation than pay 2-2.50$ for two mini tortillas and less than a tablespoons worth of meat & onions. Worst of all, there was no flavor like before. I don’t need a bunch of spices but there was No taste of salt, no taste of fat. So disappointing. This place was amazing and always on point less than 6 months ago.

My co worker and I pass here everyday after work and always see so much people here. So finally stopped and got their Asada Steak Burrito and it was so flavorful. The burrito was huge so make sure you bring your appetite. Try their sauces too, we did the mild. Was little spicy but perfect. They working hard in there so when you go just have a little patience because they always have a line. Definitely going back again.

I was in Honolulu for 3 weeks and this was hands down the best food that I had while on the island... I didn't know what to expect when I walked up but the owner and ladies behind the counter were absolutely the friendliest people ever!!! I ordered some chicken tacos and a milita... And it blew my mind... For something to be so simple it was absolutely delicious!!! Just the right size and didn't leave me stuffed and suffering! Definitely recommend!

On the eternal search for good Mexican food on island, I had heard about Thyda's and even passed it by many times on my way to Whole Foods Queen or to work, but it never seemed to be open or the right time to go. I finally got the chance by serendipity when I had a free lunch hour and was headed to WF for some grocery shopping. WF seems to be the best choice for parking (if you're going to shop there anyway) since there is maybe 2 parking spots in front of this tiny taco stand on Queen Street across from the WF parking garage entrance. While I was there, they told a guy in a truck he could park in the driveway of the tint shop next to it - guessing they have a deal with the owner for quick parking? This place does a brisk business, so you'll want to scope out the large menu on the wall of the building before going up to the stand and ordering. Your choices are Tacos, Burritos, Quesadillas and Rice Bowls with Carne Asada, Carne Pollo, Carnitas, Barbacoa, Lengua and Jack Fruit as your protein. I wasn't that hungry (but couldn't resist the opportunity to stop at the stand and try it) so just got 2 tacos - Lengua and Carne Pollo. After ordering, I heard someone ordering horchata, so I went back and ordered that - other drink choices are water, sodas (in the coolers, check them for selection), bottled Jarritos sodas, and Agua Fresca. There were several people ahead of me, as well as some pickup orders, but my order came fairly quickly. I was at first shocked at small two tacos for $10 ($5 each) looked - but they are standard street taco size, and the fillings are sizable. More importantly, THEY ARE WORTH EVERY BITE - especially that Lengua, it's hands down the best Lengua on Oahu. I would pay more for that Lengua, seriously so good. I didn't care for the horchata but that's my own taste preference - tasted different than other horchata I've had at other places on island or even my own when I make it, so maybe they use or add something else? Will try the Agua Fresca next time - I will be back!!
