A Pacific Catch in the Heart of Honolulu

Stepping into The Seaside feels like finding a quiet pocket of calm amid the bustling energy of urban Honolulu. The space leans into a clean, nautical aesthetic—think cool marble surfaces paired with driftwood accents that mirror the nearby island shoreline. It is the kind of place where the sound of clinking wine glasses competes with a low, steady hum of conversation, making it an ideal spot for an intimate date or a polished post-work decompression.

The Raw Bar Experience

The menu is anchored by a rotating selection of hyper-local catch and premium imports. Chef-driven preparations keep the focus squarely on the salinity of the oysters and the buttery texture of local ahi tuna. If you are a fan of minimalist presentation, the crudo is the star here; expect thin, translucent ribbons of fish brightened by citrus zest and finishing oils that highlight the natural oceanic flavor rather than masking it. The wine list is equally intentional, favoring crisp whites and mineral-heavy pours specifically chosen to cut through the richness of the raw bar offerings.

Refined Dining with Character

While the service is attentive and brisk, keep in mind that the acoustics can get quite lively as the evening progresses. It is a space designed for those who appreciate the intersection of high-end seafood and a curated cellar. While finding a parking spot in this central district can occasionally require a bit of patience, the reward is an unhurried, sophisticated meal that captures the essence of Hawaii’s coastal culinary identity. Whether you are leaning into a full seafood tower or simply stopping by for a glass of chilled Chablis and a half-dozen oysters, the experience remains consistently focused on quality ingredients and local pride.

Seafood sounded like a good idea since we had a staycation in Waikiki, the tipoff should have been that there were no customers in the place. We ordered the baked oysters in garlic butter. The oysters were so small that you could put two of them on the baguette slice. The flavor was ok. The clam chowder was good and hearty, probably the best thing we had The Crab cake sandwich was more like a slider size and it looked more like canned crab, no lump meat. $37. seems like a lot for that. Overall, not a place I would go back to.

Follow me for more great review. We were looking for a bite after our sunset cruise, it’s our last evening in Hawaii and did not want to end up with a plate diner. We found that gem on google, right next to us, what a diner!!! Every dish was tasty and flavourful, the only little thing i was surprise with is the crackers for te clam chowder, it such a good dish guys, make your own croutons for it, don’t give us packaged crackers hahaha, it is the only little hick up. Their crab flatbread is a must try, the spicy poke is one of the best i tried here, it could have been a bit more spicy but it comes with bigger chunks of tuna which really highlight the taste of the fish definitely to try if you go there. Both dips were super tasty and come with good chips too. I mean, to me it was 5 stars anyway, well done!

It's hard to leave a rave review when I didn't have the full experience. We only stopped in for happy hour snacks before we went to the beach. We had the prosciutto and arugula pizza and a small crab dip with taro chips. The pizzs is kinda artisan rectangular flatbed, with prosciutto and arugula as mentioned. Mozzarella and a balsamic reduction. The crab dip is kinda thin but had a delicious flavor. I would come back for dinner sometime soon to try more regular menu stuff like oysters and calamari.
