Crafting the Perfect Cup in Kaimuki
Stepping into this Waialae Avenue spot, the first thing that hits you is the hum of industrial machines working to brew tea to order. Unlike shops that rely on pre-batched containers, the team here extracts tea leaves fresh for every single drink. You can hear the rhythmic grind of coffee beans and the hiss of the milk frother, signaling that your beverage is being assembled from scratch.
The Art of the Custom Brew
Teapresso Bar has built its reputation on precision. Whether you are looking for a robust Oolong milk tea or a vibrant fruit infusion, the menu allows for complete control over sweetness and ice levels. Locals often gravitate toward their signature honey boba, which maintains a distinct chewiness that pairs perfectly with the floral notes of their mountain green tea. The space is efficient and modern, functioning best as a grab-and-go hub for those navigating the busy Kaimuki corridor.
Local Observations
Be prepared for a brief wait during the after-school rush when students from the surrounding neighborhood flood the counter. While seating is limited, the proximity to nearby local boutiques makes it an ideal pit stop for a refreshing caffeine boost while exploring the streets of Honolulu. Parking in the immediate vicinity can be a bit of a puzzle, so keep an eye out for the small lot or available street stalls along the main thoroughfare.

I absolutely love Teapresso on Waialae Avenue! Both Ha and her sister Hang are such incredible humans! They are so authentically kind hearted and genuinely care about making people happy! The quality of their teas and boba are unparalleled! Some say the proof is the pudding, but I say the proof is in the consistency of how people treat you! Go to where you are appreciated, go to Teapresso Wailae!!!

Tasty tea and boba with a great recommendation from the clerk since I wanted to try something new. Love that you can choose the sweetness level because I often find drinks are too sweet for me. Cute atmosphere I'd probably do some studying in right near Chaminade/UH. I'll be back.

Genuinely such a nice place with lovely staff and nice quiet places to study. I've only ever been to a different location (which is MUCH more crowded than I'd like) and this made me genuinely so happy. It's really a hidden gem for a college student like me, who's on the lookout for quiet places to work and enjoy some boba. Awesome job guys!!

Small drink spot on a busy road, hard to see signage, and easy to miss. Got a Vietnamese coffee, den da, it was excellent and refreshing. Would recommend and return. Just have to figure out the parking. I parked at the gas station nearby and didn’t check further.

I was given less-than-stellar customer service at a different Teapresso and wanted to try another location. Kaimuki - specifically the barista, Ha - was awesome! She mentioned that “no ice” with my Thai Coffee and Vietnamese Coffee would be at the line shown in the sample and if I was OK with that. Yes, I am good with the sample line! Both drinks met my expectations and were awesome. I really appreciate this business being upfront and meeting customer expectations (i.e. telling me coffees only come in a large & if I was still ok with purchasing it). I would definitely come back to this location the next time I’m in the area. Thanks, Ha!

Great tea and boba❤️, but the location needs a face-lift. Broken door, discolored walls, lacks ambiance, etc. Also, be aware that the macaroons arrive on a Tuesday each week, so on Sunday/Monday, they might not be great. I took a risk on 2 despite them kindly giving a heads up that they were older... one was hard and tasted of freezer 😩 but the other still tasted pretty fresh 😋

The employees there are super friendly. We go very often so they have our drinks memorized. Always polite. There are many tea places…. We’ve tried pretty much ever different company. Overall Teapresso Bar In Kaimuki is 5 star service and customer satisfaction!

Friendly staff, service with a smile! Their boba is soft, chewy, and tasty. I had their Teapresso Milk Tea, at 50% reduced sweetness, and it was still a bit sweet for my taste, but the tea was strong and delicious!

Went for a boba treat today after our sunset hike. Tropic Osmanthus tea & my personal favorite Green tea Kit Kat frappe with half boba half Crystal jelly was delicious like usual! Service was great & the staff was very personable & kind. We definitely recommend it to others & will be going back soon!
