We celebrated a special occasion with an afternoon tea for six at Tea at 1024, and it was absolutely wonderful from start to finish. A charming touch right at the beginning is that everyone chooses their own beautiful tea cup before sitting down for service. The setting felt elegant yet comfortable, perfect for lingering over beautiful food and conversation. Latricia, who is both the owner and our server, was exceptional — attentive, friendly, and incredibly knowledgeable about the menu. She took great care of our large group and made us feel right at home. The afternoon tea spread was generous and beautifully presented. We started with the house salad—fresh greens dotted with sweet fruit and creamy feta that struck a lovely balance of flavors. The scones were an absolute highlight and arrived warm, flaky, and fragrant. We loved the lavender scones with their subtle floral note and the bright, fruity raspberry scones. What really stole the show was the clotted cream — rich, silky, and perfectly paired with the sweet strawberry jam. We couldn’t get enough of it and happily went through every last bit (and had seconds). Next came the sandwich tier, and every single one was a hit: - The smoked salmon was classic and fresh. - Chicken curry with apples brought a gentle warmth and sweetness that everyone loved. - The classic egg salad was well seasoned. - Ham and cheese had a traditional flavor. - Pimento and cream cheese added a fun, tangy twist. - Cucumber and hummus was light and refreshing. The sweets course did not disappoint. Even though the kids were full, we still tried all of it. The carrot cake was moist and spiced just right, the M&M cupcake brought fun, nostalgic chocolate flavor, the strawberry mousse was light and elegant, and the strawberry and Nutella sandwich was a decadent, kid- and adult-approved treat. While we loved all the teas, our most liked ones (in order of preference) were: - Strawberry green tea (fruity and smooth — our top favorite) - Raspberry lemonade herbal tea (bright, refreshing, and perfect iced) - Sakura cherry rose white tea (delicate, floral, and beautifully aromatic) - Ethiopian mocha puerh (rich and slightly chocolatey with nice depth) - Blue mango green tea (tropical and vibrant) - And a rich hot chocolate for one in the group Portions were perfect for sharing among six people without feeling overwhelmed or left wanting more. Everything tasted fresh, high-quality, and thoughtfully prepared. The variety meant there was truly something for everyone in our group. Tips for Your Visit: 1) Order different teas so you can try multiple varieties. Each person gets their own individual teapot, which makes sharing and sampling easy and fun. 2) Make a reservation to ensure you have a table in this quaint and sometimes very busy establishment. 3) You can pay in advance (online) to make the experience less burdensome for both the customers and staff. 4) Parking: The covered parking garage on Bethel Street offers a reasonable fee and allows you to stay longer than the typical one-hour limit, which is perfect for a leisurely afternoon tea. Overall: Tea at 1024 delivered a memorable afternoon tea experience. The food was delicious, the teas were outstanding, and the warm hospitality from Latricia and Sage made it even more special. We’d happily return and highly recommend it for birthdays, bridal showers, or any excuse to slow down and enjoy something special. Five stars!

I've been here many times and am never disappointed. The space is charming, the service attentive, the afternoon tea a delight. Choosing a cup from the selection available is always fun and sets a nice tone for the experience. Some of the teacups are chipped and should probably be retired from use, but that's my only complaint. The cups and other accessories available for purchase are also nice.

My husband surprised me with a reservation here for our 13th anniversary and it was AMAZING! We got the window seating right at the entrance which was SUCH a treat! Picking our own cups was so fun and our server was so awesome for explaining the process, tea options and even taking pictures of us for me which I appreciated so so much. The staff here really make you feel special and brought out a special little treat to celebrate and congratulate us! Their menu changes every season and we happened in during Spring/Easter! We will DEFINITELY stop by during other holidays/birthdays in the other seasons to check it out! They even have tea sets, accessories and tea blends for sale for when you want a little something to take home! Loved absolutely everything! An anniversary I will never forget!

What stood out to me most was the pace of the environment. It feels like a place meant for conversation, reading, or simply taking a break from the day. Chinatown has many energetic restaurants and bars, so finding a quiet tea shop like this feels refreshing. Service during my visit was friendly and attentive, and the staff were happy to explain different tea options for anyone unfamiliar with them. Overall, Tea at 1024 is a great place to relax with a good cup of tea while exploring Honolulu’s Chinatown neighborhood. If I could give 6 stars I would! We really enjoyed our experience at Tea at 1024. I had a large party reservation for a bridal shower and it was very easy to set up. The communication was great! Inside the tea house is soooo adorable. You pick your own little teacup and the tea selection is very broad. I thought it was a very good value as well. Customer service was great, food was tasty! My crew especially loved the cucumber sandwiches and tiramisu. Thank you for a terrific experience.

Never been to a tea party before 🫖 but this experience made me want to go again! We went for my sister's bridal shower, and they accommodate those unable to consume Gluten. I had my own Gluten-Free platter separate from the rest of the party, but all the flavors were the same. I felt included, unlike other places we eat out. Can't wait to bring my daughter again.

Appointments are a must here since the tea shop has limited seating. When you arrive, they ask you to pick out your own teacup from a wall of choices, which is a fun start! I went with a mug that had a bit of whimsy and magic to it. The service was both attentive and super friendly. Our server even provided a tea timer, so we knew exactly when our tea was done steeping. We were there during a book club meeting, so there was plenty of lively chatter. The ladies were so friendly they even invited us to join their book club! We weren’t local, so we declined, but it was a truly welcoming atmosphere, and I really enjoyed the tea service. Every single thing we ate was delicious, and we loved the seasonal teas they recommended. I’d absolutely return if I’m ever in the area again! Highly recommend this place for afternoon tea!

What a cute spot for afternoon tea! We made a reservation in advance which required us to pay for the service in advance, and it wasn’t too bad for each person (almost $40 each). Each person gets to choose their own tea, and we did the classic afternoon tea. Each sandwich and treat tasted really good, and we thoroughly enjoyed the session. Although the service can be a little slow, there were large parties there on a Sunday and the staff were doing their best and very nice too. Overall, I’d recommend coming here for a fun thing to try!
