Taco Bell - Honolulu (Waiakamilo Ave)
About
Late Night Cravings in Kalihi
When the sun sets over Honolulu and you need a quick, reliable meal, this outpost on Waiakamilo Road delivers exactly what you expect. Situated in the heart of the industrial area near the bustling waterfront, it serves as a go-to fuel stop for locals commuting between downtown and the airport.
The Familiar Flavors of the Islands
The menu highlights all the classic Taco Bell staples that satisfy mid-day hunger. From the crunch of a Doritos Locos Taco to the comfort of a bean burrito, the consistency is key here. The kitchen maintains a brisk pace, ensuring your Cheesy Gordita Crunch is served hot, even during the peak lunch rush when the drive-thru line can spill out toward the street. It is a no-frills environment designed for speed rather than a long, sit-down meal.
Practical Dining Tips
While the interior is utilitarian, it provides a clean, air-conditioned retreat from the tropical humidity. Note that parking can get a bit tight during peak afternoon hours as delivery drivers and locals navigate the narrow lot. If you are exploring the local neighborhood or heading toward the Kapalama district, this spot offers a convenient, familiar bite to keep you moving through your busy Hawaii schedule without breaking the bank.

Sadly it happens too often, bad service lines are never smooth the wait is like a hour wait with only 5 cars in front. Hours don’t match the restaurant. Very inconvenient so we decided to never come here again. Don’t waste your time because the wait is forever. Food is not the same at this location. Sloppy or burned or missing item but there’s other locations I guess. Too bad so sad.

Slowest drive thru every time. Yet I still make the same mistake. Just don’t even bother coming here. The one who takes your order is the one who does the payment and cooks the food … garbage establishment and service . Not fast food. The amount of time this drive thru took 30 minutes , 4 cars ahead of me, I could have just cooked at home.

Every single time I've came to this Taco Bell. The lines are always long and not only that but it takes a long time for the drive-through to even get to order and I don't mean sometimes every single time.

Worst taco bell I've ever been to. I live close so it should be convenient but they randomly close against their hours sometimes, especially early at night. Today is 430pm and the drive through is closed, not the first time this has happened. I have a sleeping toddler in the car and drove all the way here almost home...I should have known better, they are the most unreliable drive through I've dealt with. If they are open, check your food before you drive off bc they will mess up your order time to time too.

We ordered at drive thru and they didn’t even get our order right. We ordered a Canitna Bowl and 3 meals. Never got the cantina bowl and the quesadilla was rolled up so all the filling squeezed out. No regard for presentation and missing food items. Worst drive thru set up as well. Not enough space for in & out traffic

After ordering on the app while I was walking to this restaurant, I expected to go inside, pick up my food and be on my way. But I was surprised to find that they were closed due to staffing shortage. Drive-thru was open but I was on foot and wasn't going to try to go to the drive-thru because I know they would not serve me there. I did send all the specific information to the corporate email address on the receipt along with evidence of this incident and they can't be bothered with replying to let me know that they'll fix this issue. You may want to avoid this restaurant since can't correct a simple problem. $11 is not enough for me to get excited about, but I won't be coming back to Taco Bell anytime soon, recommend you consider finding another place as well.

They finally fixed the drive through at this tacobell after the renovation. Usually do drive through and the service is always fast no matter how long the line is. Update as of 10/16/23 It seems that no one works at this place at night. The stated hours of operation say that they close at midnight but after 9pm no one is there. Had multiple times where i’ve ordered on the app just to have no one there. At least put cones to block the drive through lane. And they should pay their employees more. Update as of 7/2/24 Drive through is much better. Looks like theyve staffed more people.

Newly renovated Location! Love the beautiful, bright signage and the wide drive through lane. Service here was friendly, fast and efficient. I really appreciate the vegetarian options at taco bell. The veggie crunchwrap is AMAZING - consistently delicious!! Very recently tried the " fiesta veggie burrito" and although I wasnt a fan, I appreciate the option to order a vegetarian "fast" meal The Fiesta Veggie Burrito comes with Seasoned Rice, Black Beans, Red Strips, Creamy Chipotle Sauce, Reduced-Fat Sour Cream, a Three-Cheese Blend.
