Taco Bell - Honolulu (Kapahulu Ave)
About
A Late-Night Kapahulu Staple
Positioned right in the heart of the Kapahulu corridor, this Taco Bell serves as a reliable pitstop for those traversing between Waikiki and Diamond Head. The interior carries that familiar, fluorescent glow, making it a go-to spot for locals needing a quick Crunchwrap Supreme or a classic bean burrito after a long day at the beach.
What to Expect
While the service moves with the typical efficiency of a high-volume fast-food kitchen, the real charm here is the location. You get the classic menu—think hot sauce packets and cheesy gordita crunches—with the added convenience of being minutes away from Honolulu’s famous plate lunch spots. The dining area remains functional and simple, though be prepared for a bit of a breeze if you sit near the sliding entrance during the humid Hawaiian evenings.
Local Quick-Tips
Parking in this busy Honolulu stretch can get tight, especially during dinner hours when the surrounding cafes and local eateries are bustling. It is the perfect spot for a no-frills meal if you want to grab something quick to eat in the car while heading toward the Kaimuki neighborhood or the coastline. Whether you are craving a late-night Baja Blast or a standard taco combo, this spot keeps the familiar flavors consistent in the middle of island life.

Avoid if you’re vegetarian. We ordered beans in our food but received beef in most of the dishes instead. I even confirmed with them before ordering and again at pickup that everything was vegetarian. I also saw another review from someone who had the same issue.

I would like to leave a sincere review about today’s shift on February 14, 2026 (Valentine’s Day). According to my receipt, my cashier today was Johnson A. I would like to personally thank him for his professionalism, politeness, and accuracy when taking my order. Everything was handled quickly, clearly, and in a very organized manner. I do not know the names of the cooks working today, but I want to express my deepest appreciation and respect to the kitchen team. The kitchen was in absolutely perfect condition. Honestly, I have not seen such a clean and well-maintained kitchen in a long time. All equipment looked spotless, organized, and professionally maintained. Everything was properly arranged, and it was clear that food preparation was conducted under excellent supervision and with great attention to detail. It is especially reassuring and pleasant that customers can see the kitchen area. Being able to observe how the team works quickly, efficiently, and professionally builds a lot of trust and respect. This is truly an excellent shift. Whenever I come in and see this particular team working, I feel happy and confident because I know my order will be prepared quickly, correctly, and with care. They create a wonderful customer experience. I would like to sincerely thank the entire team working this shift for their professionalism, dedication, and for maintaining the kitchen at such an exceptional standard. They truly deserve recognition and appreciation for their hard work. Excellent job, and thank you again to Johnson A and the entire team.

I’m extremely disappointed with my experience at Taco Bell. On two separate occasions, I arrived between 12:30–12:40 AM. The app clearly allowed me to place an order and stated the store would be closing at 1:00 AM. However, when I got there both times, the location was already shut down with the metal security gates pulled down. This is incredibly frustrating and misleading. This seems less like a company-wide issue and more like inconsistent practices at this specific location. If the store is choosing to close early, that should be accurately reflected in the system so customers aren’t misled. Please ensure better alignment between posted hours, the app, and what’s actually happening in-store.

Cashier won't take walk up orders. They let us wait for 15 minutes and kept pretending like they were going to take our order but never did. If they don't want walk ups then they should put up a sign for "mobile orders only" or tell people waiting how long before they're willing to help you. Just rude. I don't blame the employees - these fast food places have stupid systems to time employees on orders and the pressure to keep fulfillment times low is ridiculous and leads to poor service for everyone.

They kept taking Uber eats orders even though there was a 20 minute queue, and only worked on those orders when there were no walk ups in line. Fair enough from a business standpoint since they make more money on the walk-ups than on contracted deliveries, but they're making service people that aren't paid by the hour stand around halving their pay.

Waited twenty minutes in line, only to be told to wait another half an hour to order food. Do not recommend

Honestly this should just be a hidden kitchen and serve delivery only orders, shoutout to the staff that survives this shit everyday (the service is mediocre bc of the volume of orders they get). It’s criminal how such a small kitchen has to manage all of that. If you want to eat and wait the usual, go to another Taco Bell. If you want to be told your order will be received in half an hour + the hour they take making your food then go ahead.

Service was good took my order and got I quickly but I guess the reason I got it quicker was because they forgot to put lettuce, tomatoes, shredded cheese on all my tacos, I just got beans and sour cream in all 4 of my tacos LOL. At least they got the nacho fries order right, almost forgot my second cheese sauce that I ordered with it as well LOL.

This tacobell sucks. Few days ago order had missing items. No refund given, nobody picks up the phone. Ordered again from Uber eats. The restaurant took over an hour to have it ready for pick up. When I got it, it was soggy and my baha blast freeze was half way only. Beefy 5 layer was just beans...

WORST TACO BELL EVER. While we were in line 5 people left because they won’t take their order, and we waited at the window for 15 mins and asked the staff 3 times and were rudely ignored with only a look and a hand gesture, not even a verbal acknowledgment. we had to leave as well because they would not greet anyone at the window :(
