Sushiman (333 Keahole St Suite 2B10)
About
Fresh Cuts by the Marina
When you find yourself wandering through the Koko Marina Center in Hawaii Kai, Sushiman offers a straightforward escape from the midday heat. This spot specializes in a no-frills, grab-and-go sushi experience that focuses on the fundamentals of raw fish and seasoned rice. It is the kind of place where the focus remains entirely on the quality of the ahi poke and California rolls rather than elaborate plate presentations.
The Koko Head Lunch Ritual
Ideal for locals looking to pick up a quick lunch before heading out to Sandy Beach or those finishing a morning hike at Koko Crater, the efficiency here is a major draw. You will often hear the soft rustle of plastic containers and the clatter of chopsticks from nearby outdoor benches as visitors enjoy their rolls while looking out toward the water. The menu leans heavily into familiar Japanese-American staples, making it a reliable choice for families or individuals needing a clean, light meal.
Local Observations
The space is functional and compact, designed for rapid service. Be prepared for a bit of sun glare if you choose to eat at the immediate exterior tables, and note that the parking lot surrounding the center can get quite bustling during peak weekend hours. It is an honest, unpretentious stop that understands its role in the Hawaii Kai community—providing consistent, fresh ingredients without the formality of a traditional sit-down sushi bar. Whether you are craving a spicy tuna hand roll or a platter to take to the beach, this kitchen delivers exactly what the signage promises.

Our favorite takeout sushi restaurant in Hawaii Kai! We go there regularly, consistently good sushi rolls. We’ve ordered a party platter for birthday party too, it was a hit ⭐️ everyone loved it

Among all the Japanese restaurants we tried during our Hawaii trip, this was by far the best in terms of value for money. The seasoning was spot on, the sashimi was fresh, and it’s definitely a place I’d love to visit again. We sat on the outdoor terrace with a beautiful view, and the service was warm and friendly. Highly recommend!

The staff was so nice and sweet. Not upper class sushi but fair for location and size. $13-$19 for 8 rolls. Also has soft drinks and drinks from Vietnam that I haven’t seen before. Friendliest staff I’ve met.
