Steak Farm
About
A Modern Twist on the Honolulu Steakhouse Scene
Steak Farm brings a refreshing, stripped-back approach to protein-forward dining in the heart of Honolulu. Far from the stuffy, velvet-draped steakhouses of the past, this spot favors a clean, industrial aesthetic that lets the quality of the ranch-sourced beef speak for itself. You will notice the open kitchen layout immediately; the sound of searing cast-iron pans and the scent of charcoal-grilled ribeye create an energetic backdrop that feels distinctly local.
Ingredients Rooted in Island Soil
The culinary philosophy here centers on direct relationships with producers. Their signature Hawaiian-raised beef is prepared with minimal interference—usually just a simple house-made herb butter and sea salt—to highlight the natural depth of the meat. Beyond the cuts, keep an eye out for their seasonal side dishes, which feature produce harvested from regional Oʻahu farms. The charred kale with macadamia nut crumble is a frequent standout that grounds the menu in the unique agricultural character of the islands.
The Fine Print for Your Visit
If you are planning to dine during the sunset rush, be prepared for a lively, high-decibel environment where the energy levels mirror the bustling streets outside. While the food is sophisticated, the setting remains casual enough for a weeknight indulgence. Note that street parking in this pocket of Honolulu can be a challenge, so consider arriving a few minutes early to secure a spot nearby. Whether you are looking for a celebratory meal or just a high-quality bite in a modern, unpretentious setting, Steak Farm offers a visceral, flavor-focused experience that avoids the typical tourist tropes.

Four stars only because of the constant upcharges — not because of the food or service. The steak was cooked a perfect medium: tender, juicy and full of flavor. The rice was absolute perfection and the salad was fresh and crisp. Service was friendly and fast, especially considering how busy Waikīkī Beach gets. The only downside for me was feeling a little nickel-and-dimed. Extra for sauce, extra for dressing and even extra for a takeout bag. I get that costs are high in Hawaiʻi, but when most people are grabbing Steak Shack specifically to take down to the beach, charging for a bag feels a little excessive. Other than that, zero complaints. I’ll absolutely be back whenever I want an easy, satisfying beachside meal in Waikīkī.

Steak Shack is definitely worth a stop if you’re in Waikiki. The food was fresh, flavorful, and the steak was cooked well. The steak and salad combo was a great lighter option while still being filling. The biggest thing to know is that this place is popular, so plan ahead and expect a line, especially around dinner time. The wait moved fairly quickly, and the food was worth it. Great casual spot for a tasty meal just steps from the beach. Would definitely come back.

We arrived about ten minutes before they stopped taking orders and I think we ended up waiting about 35-40 minutes until we got our order... however it was so worth it. This place is just an absolute must if you're in Waikiki. The crowd is a testament to how good the food is. Get both the chicken and the steak and share it.
