Starbucks - Honolulu (Kalakaua Ave A102 Marriott Ohua Exterior)
About
Fueling Your Honolulu Mornings
Positioned right along the pulse of Waikiki, this coffee stop serves as a practical launchpad for those staying near the Ohua Avenue corridor. It functions with the efficiency travelers expect, stripping away the pretension of high-end cafes to focus on the reliable, consistent roasts that keep island days moving.
The Waikiki Coffee Rhythm
The space captures the quick-paced energy of tourists grabbing a venti Pike Place before hitting the sands of Waikiki Beach. You will hear the familiar whir of espresso machines blending with the distant sound of crashing surf and the chatter of vacationers mapping out their beach day. It is an ideal spot if you want to skip the resort breakfast buffet line and opt for a classic bacon gouda sandwich or a nitro cold brew while you check your emails.
Local Observations for Visitors
Keep in mind that being positioned at a major Marriott property entrance means a steady stream of foot traffic. It isn’t the place for a quiet, prolonged study session, but it is exactly where you want to be when you need a caffeine jolt before walking down to the shoreline. Parking in this part of Honolulu is notoriously scarce, so if you are staying nearby, it is much wiser to walk or utilize the trolley stops rather than circling the block.
Whether you need a quick refresh before heading to Diamond Head or a midday matcha, the baristas here are accustomed to the rapid-fire requests of a transient crowd. Expect efficient service and a no-frills environment that prioritizes speed, making it a functional pitstop in the heart of the Pacific.

As soon as we entered the doors, we were greeted by Heidi, a very nice and cheerful person! She was smiling and joyful the entire time, making us feel instantly welcome. Heidi is like a precious gemstone—rare, bright, and adding immense value to this location with her sparkling energy. Five stars just because of her!

We went out for dinner albeit to a neighboring restaurant that was busy, but we had just gone on a tough hike and my girlfriend’s feet were tired. She sat in Starbucks outside chairs which were empty beyond belief with zero customers bc it was nearly 9PM but they felt the courage to go out of their way of closing to kick us out of those chairs. I got pictures of them kicking other people out and saw them literally peak out their windows and clearly enjoyed telling other patrons to leave their premises it was honestly pathetic. I will never go to this location period and honestly left a bad taste in my mouth for all of Starbucks, let’s use common sense as people and as a business. My pictures clearly show how it was closing time and no one was there. I learned in Hawaii that aloha can mean hello, welcome and even I love you but to this location aloha simply means goodbye. 100 percent do not recommend, Hawaii otherwise has been welcoming besides this experience, pretty sad - hope that employee feels good about “following the rules” of ignorance.
