Star of Honolulu - Five Star
About
Pacific Sunset Elegance Aboard the Star of Honolulu
Stepping onto the top deck of the Star of Honolulu offers a perspective of the Waikiki coastline that you simply cannot get from a beach chair. As the ship leaves the harbor, the salt spray hits the air, and the city skyline begins to glow against the darkening horizon. This isn't your typical tourist boat; the Five-Star tier focuses on a seven-course signature French-style dinner served in a more intimate, refined setting.
A Seven-Course Culinary Journey
The menu highlights local Hawaiian elements fused with classic fine-dining techniques. Expect to find fresh cold-water lobster and prime tenderloin as the centerpieces of the progression. The sommelier-led wine pairing keeps the pacing relaxed, allowing guests to soak in the live jazz performance that fills the air without overpowering the sound of the Pacific waves against the hull.
What to Expect on the Water
This experience is curated for couples and travelers looking for a formal evening away from the casual atmosphere of the main Honolulu tourist drag. While the service is impeccable and the table settings are crisp, be prepared for the movement of the ocean—it is an authentic maritime experience. You will likely walk away with a slight sway in your step, a small reminder of the evening spent drifting past Diamond Head as the stars begin to emerge.
Dress code is strictly enforced here, so leave the flip-flops at your hotel. Arriving early to the Aloha Tower Marketplace area helps, as the boarding process for the upper decks can be busy as the sun starts to dip. If you are celebrating a milestone or simply want to see the sunset from the best seat in the Pacific, this cruise provides a vantage point that is fundamentally different from any land-based restaurant in Oahu.

This was a delightful experience aboard the Star of Honolulu sunset cruise (on a Friday night)! Very well staffed, executed for a large group of people to have quality food and service. Our server, Tina (Cristina) was so friendly and attentive to us and partook in the show and entire process for us. A delightful surprise and experience for an evening show with professional dancers, singers, musicians, photographer, staff, captains, and engineering staff was top notch. We have been delightfully surprised and beyond satisfied with this experience. Don’t sleep on this experience! The views are also spectacular and create forever-moments and memories.

The Star of Honolulu Sunset Dinner Cruise was a fun and memorable experience. The views of Diamond Head and Waikiki’s beautiful hotel skyline from the ocean were absolutely stunning, especially at sunset. The course meal was neither particularly good nor bad. One of the highlights was watching the live dance performances up close, which were energetic and impressive. The atmosphere became even more exciting when everyone joined in dancing to YMCA together. Overall, it was a lively cruise with breathtaking scenery and great entertainment.

The experience was absolution amazing. We booked a Friday night for the buffett and entertainment. You are greeted before even getting on the ship with Hula dancers and music and the oppertunity to buy a lei. Once aboard, the direct you to your seating and we had a very nice table with a great view out the windows. The buffett was good with plenty of options including several deserts. The top deck was for viewing and smoking(If you are a smoker). The fireworks show from shore was spectacular. I would highly suggest this experience to anyone considering the cruise.

Amazing experience. Food, service, entertainment and Sunset. The tour guide is truly a gem on the island of Honolulu. The random useful knowledge will keep you enthralled until you reach the ship. The ship has tiers for all budgets but I would definitely suggest the third deck- lobster and steak being served coupled with a show.

We celebrated our 14-year wedding anniversary on the Star of Honolulu and couldn’t have asked for a better experience. From the stunning ocean views to the relaxing ambiance, everything was wonderful. It felt romantic, memorable, and very well done. A perfect way to celebrate an anniversary while in Hawaii.

This is a nice dinner at sea experience. The appetizers included a cheese platter and fruit platter. The meals are prepared ahead of time and served on the ship. The lobster was good and not over cooked which was surprising due to being cooked ahead of time but they obviously know how to do this. The filet was cook as it should be med-rare ( my wife is not a fan of the cook but did eat the outside and gave me the rest) lucky me. They had a nice show after dinner and a great cruise in the bay. We had clouds but still a nice sunset. That is one of the really great things About this dinner cruise is the incredible sunset while your out to sea.

Booked this for our trip to Waikiki and it was fun. I had no idea what to expect. It was a 4 story large ship so that was nice! A moderate 10 min wait to board but they put on a show and sing while you wait! Leigh’s were not included you had to buy…for the price they should throw these in when you board. Food was mediocre…if you’ve ever been on a carnival cruise it’s on par with that. Entertainment was good, the staff hustled and was energetic to keep it going. The views of the island from the water were second to none though. This made it worth it! Diamond head does not even look real. Fun little adventure that only takes about 2 hrs. The rolls I guess technically just rolls since we’re in Hawaii lol but in Alabama we call them “Hawaiian rolls” were my favorite thing. The ingredients make them appear blue/purple inside and I couldn’t get enough of them!
