Solera

Food was quite mediocre overall. Beet salad and Johnny cakes were the highlights. Risotto was mushy, chicken and beef rib lacked flavor and the butterfish was just ok. We had a better meal Tommy Bahamas the night before. Sunset view was nice. But definitely not worth the price. Piano player a nice touch.

This was one of the best dining experiences I've ever had. We were immediately greeted by the hostess and seated. The view was amazing and we were lucky enough to witness a beautiful sunset. We ordered the prix-fixe menu which was delicious. The drinks were perfect and almost dangerous. Everyone was very attentive and kind, answering any and all questions. The piano player added such an elegant touch, he elevated the atmosphere the moment he began to play. I can't wait to dine here again.

First off, I thought the food was really, really good. The only thing better than the food was the service! I'm born and raised here but don't go into Waikiki too often. This was a nice treat for us, a leisurely Sunday brunch. Looked like there were some Ritz residents dining as well and it was a very relaxed vibe. I ordered the Mahalo Fest 2026 set menu which included fresh fruit, miso butterfish chazuke, and banana bread pancakes. SO glad I ordered that on the recommendation of our server, Summer. She also recommended the mango juice and that was excellent too. - Fresh fruit: your usual assortment with a yuzu syrup. The fruit was ice cold and super sweet. - Miso butterfish chazuke: butterfish was cooked perfectly. I'm pretty picky with fish since we can get it everywhere and I cook all kinds of fish at home. It had no bones, had a great color to it and was a good portion. It was on top white rice and you get tea poured table side into your bowl (thank you to Rubon, who was very friendly!) - Banana bread pancakes: wow. Would definitely order this by itself. I love banana bread so this was one of my faves. I highly recommend whatever specials they have, like the Mahalo Fest set that I had. Yes, you're paying a little more here but you're also paying for the service and view. It was so relaxing looking out into the blue sky and Waikiki beach skyline. We never had the chance to ask for anything because we always had our water and coffee refilled, new utensils after our entree, and our empty dishes were cleared immediately. Like everyone, we're on a budget but life is short so sometimes you have to treat yourself. Thank you to Summer and everyone else there, we'll definitely be back! The restaurant validates your parking if you park just to dine here which is nice, and the valet service was great. Helpful hint: the roundabout to park is inside the half roundabout you see from the street. You drive into and over the stone driveway (which looks like a sidewalk).

The piano player was excellent and the fireworks views were beautiful. Unfortunately, everything else went downhill. They charge $15-$20 for a very small, unimpressive bread service. My husbands $100 filet mignon was served pre-cut - which is unacceptable for fine dining - and it had no juices or flavor. The poke and fish were mediocre. The worst part: three meals were delivered, and I waited over 10 minutes for my chicken. We were forced to let our food get cold because we wanted to eat together. We were told it would be "right out," then ignored. When the manager finally came over - laughing - he said the dish had fallen while climbing two flights of stairs. That explanation only added to the disappointment. For the price point, the service and execution were nowhere near fine dining standards. They ended up comping the chicken only but For a $500+ bill, the apology fell short with an explanation that felt rehearsed and disingenuous, not professional.

We had a wonderful breakfast experience here. The view was amazing, with an open-air design and an infinity pool right below, creating a truly dreamy setting. The food was delicious and perfectly captured a Hawaiian resort vibe. Highly recommended!

We stayed at the Ritz and dined here for breakfast for the two mornings. We didn't need reservations when dining pretty early. The atmosphere was excellent, overseeing Waikiki, with great food. Oddly enough, I loved the waffle and chicken with the waffles being quite light and fluffy. Overall, all of the dishes we had were great. Arguably, a bit expensive, even for Honolulu, but our breakfast was covered by amex's FHR program.

We were celebrating our anniversary dinner with Solera. We were sat with a beautiful view of Waikīkī. The restaurant is fairly quiet with a pianist playing several different sets throughout the evening. It is an open air space but we were never hot during our time at the table. The service was outstanding. We didn’t have to wait too long to receive any portion of our food. Drinks were filled quickly and efficiently. All employees were aware of our names and what we were celebrating. They made sure to congratulate us and thanked us for choosing their restaurant. Food was delicious and perfectly cooked.

Disappointed Return Visit We first visited in February 2024 for my birthday and had one of the best meals of our trip. Because of that amazing experience, we decided to return to celebrate our anniversary, unfortunately, this time was a total disappointment. I started with a mocktail made with sparkling water, but it wasn’t even sparkling. The drink was underwhelming and served in a very small flute, which felt overpriced at $16. We ordered oysters from Washington, which were good. For our main meal, we chose the Chef’s Favorites Menu at $125 per person — not unreasonable compared to other set menus. The first course, the Cornbread Johnny Cake, was delicious, especially with the honey brown butter. However, the waitress recommended upgrading the caviar, which turned out to be a waste. The strong flavor of the honey brown butter completely overpowered the caviar. I was really disappointed that I couldn’t enjoy the caviar at all. The second course was Local Beets — I’d rate it 3 out of 5. The third course, Seafood Koshihikari Risotto, was a disaster: 0 out of 5. The waiter mentioned it had been soaked in saffron broth with shrimp for 48 hours, but the result was extremely salty and soggy. The risotto had no texture left, and the toppings overly salty salmon roe and dried-out chicken. I was honestly disgusted by this dish. The fourth course was Kona Kanpachi over white beans. The fish was decent (3 out of 5), but the white beans were inedibly salty, 0 out of 5. The final savory dish was the Flat Iron steak. It was served lukewarm but was the best of the bunch, simply prepared, 3.5 out of 5. The meal ended with a macaron, which was good. The manager did come out to speak with us about our experience and offered to bring us something else, but I was already full. I asked for some fresh-cut fruit, which he kindly brought though it still had the skin on. Service was slow in between each course. What surprised me most was that, despite our feedback and the disappointing experience, nothing was taken off the bill. After such a memorable first visit, I was really saddened by how much the quality had declined. It does has a beautiful view, however you can hear the people down below by the pool side.

A great spot to celebrate a special occasion on a Friday, especially with a beautiful view of the fireworks. The food was delicious (idk about the solera cesar salad though lol), and the shaved ice dessert was so good, we ended up ordering two! Highly recommend the pistachio flavor—absolutely worth trying.
